How do we know God's presence is with us?

Answered in 35 sources

We know God's presence is with us through His Word, the Holy Spirit, and the evident workings of His providence in our lives.

In John 21, the disciples did not initially recognize Jesus, revealing a spiritual blindness that can hinder our awareness of His presence in our lives. However, God's faithfulness assures us that He is with us even when we cannot see or feel Him. The key lies in understanding that His presence is not contingent on our perception but guaranteed through His promises in Scripture and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. God's presence serves to comfort us in our sorrows and guide us through our failures, as shown by Jesus' deliberate approach to the disciples in their time of need.
