There is an awakened sensitivity to spiritual truths, a newfound hunger for God's Word, and a marked desire for righteousness. Additionally, signs of the new birth include the presence of the Holy Spirit, who imparts a love for the brethren (1 John 3:14), as well as an increase in one's faith and assurance in Christ. A Christian's journey will be marked by ongoing growth in grace and knowledge of the Lord (2 Peter 3:18), indicating the ongoing effects of the new birth.
