How do we know Jesus is Lord?

Answered in 15 sources

Jesus' lordship is affirmed in Scripture, particularly through His resurrection and sovereign control over all things as stated in Romans 14:9.

The lordship of Jesus Christ is an established doctrine in the Christian faith, rooted in the testimony of Scripture. Romans 14:9 proclaims, 'For to this end, Christ both died and rose and revived, that He might be Lord both of the dead and the living.' His resurrection is the ultimate vindication of His identity and authority. Additionally, Hebrews 1:3 portrays Him as the one who upholds all things by His powerful word. This governance and control over creation further certifies that His lordship is absolute and not contingent upon human acknowledgment. Consequently, recognizing Jesus as Lord compels us to an active and obedient response to His commands.
