How do we know the assurance of salvation is true?

Answered in 5 sources

Our assurance of salvation is rooted in God's unchanging promises and the completed work of Christ, which is affirmed in Scripture.

The assurance of our salvation is established through the covenants made by God, as highlighted in Hebrews 6:17-18. God, with His immutable nature, cannot lie, and He provides strong consolation for those who hope in His promises. Christ’s role as our surety assures us that none will be lost, as He pledged Himself for our redemption. Furthermore, John 17 portrays Christ’s high priestly intercession where He affirms that all whom the Father has given to Him will be kept safe and glorified. This concrete assurance is what gives believers confidence in their salvation.
