How do we know we are among the elect?

Answered in 9 sources

We can know we are among the elect through our belief in Jesus Christ and the transformative power of the Gospel in our lives.

The Apostle Paul provides clarity on how we might know we are among the elect. In 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5, he states, 'Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God; for our gospel came not to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost.' This indicates that genuine belief in Christ, accompanied by a transformative experience of the Gospel, assures believers of their election. It's important not to rest on the doctrine of election alone, but rather to trust in Christ and observe the evidence of the Holy Spirit working within us as a sign of God's choosing.
