How do we know we are truly saved?

Answered in 20 sources

We know we are saved through the assurance of the Holy Spirit, which affirms our relationship with God and our identity in Christ.

The assurance of salvation is rooted in the work of the Holy Spirit as described in Ephesians 1:13-14, where believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. This sealing is a guarantee of our inheritance until redemption. Furthermore, Romans 8:9-11 teaches that those in whom the Spirit dwells are authentically belonging to Christ. It confirms our conversion and empowers us to live righteously, evidencing that we are indeed children of God. Salvation isn't based on our decision or actions but on the transformative work of the Spirit which brings us from spiritual death to life, enabling us to see, hear, and respond to Christ as our Savior.
