The Bible teaches that God's will is of two types: the decreed will, which is always fulfilled, and the commanded will, which has never been perfectly obeyed by man except for Christ.
The will of God, according to Scripture, encompasses both the decreed and commanded aspects. The decreed will of God is perfect and always fulfilled, meaning that everything that God has ordained comes to pass without fail. In contrast, the commanded will of God outlines what He desires for humanity's obedience. This has been fully realized only in Jesus Christ, who perfectly obeyed the law. The complexity of our human condition means we often struggle with fulfilling God's commands, yet we find comfort knowing that His decreed will cannot be altered and is always on schedule. Thus, we are to trust in God's overarching plan, which encompasses all circumstances.
