Why is God's grace important for salvation?

Answered in 35 sources

God's grace is vital for salvation as it enables sinners to be chosen, redeemed, and transformed, which is the only means for regeneration.

In the sovereign grace theology, the grace of God is the decisive factor in salvation. It is not by human effort or merit that one comes to faith but solely through the distinguishing grace of God. As stated in the sermon, all are deserving of condemnation due to their sins, yet through God's grace, some are chosen to be saved. This grace is what compels individuals to come to Christ, enabling transformation and repentance. Those saved by God’s grace recognize their dependency on His mercy for eternal life, which sets the foundation for their faith.
