Let's pray. Father, again we are privileged by thy mercy
and by thy grace. to assemble ourselves here again
this evening. Oh, Lord, what great privilege
and blessing and mercy this is to us who are so unworthy and
undeserving and fathers who are bankrupt and who owe ten thousand
talents and have nothing to pay, yet you visited us in a day of
mercy and have shown mercy to us. Thou hast made him known
through his life eternal to our hearts. Thou hast made known
to our hearts and to our souls the awfulness of our condition,
Father, that we are sinners and rebels, full of hypocrisy and
false pride, have no righteousness of our own that would be commendable
O what mercy, Father, Thou hast shown! Thou hast made Him known
who is our righteousness, who hath satisfied every debt that
we owe, who stood us in good stead with Thee, even the Lord
Jesus. Help us, Father, this evening,
as we're gathered here, to magnify and to exalt the name of Him
whose name is above everything, the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's
follow thy word, to thine own honor and glory. For we pray
this in his blessed name. Amen. 1 Timothy chapter 6, I believe
I said, and verse 15. Did I say 1 Timothy? It must be, I'm looking at the
wrong place here. Yes, verse 15. "...who for which
in this time he shall show, who is the blessed and only potentate,
the King of kings and Lord of lords, who only hath immortality, dwelling
in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath
seen nor can see, to whom the honor and power everlasting. Amen." Of course, this is referring
to our Lord Jesus Christ. That fourteenth verse says that,
"...thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable until
the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ." which in his times he
shall show who is. In that day he shall show. Remember I told you this morning
that when he comes again, he shall not receive the same treatment
at his second coming as he did at his first. He shall show, Chapter 19. Chapter 19. And verse number 16. Now, speaking
of the Lord Jesus again, it says, And he hath on his messenger
and on his spine a name written. What was that name that was written
on his vesture and on his spine? King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Then again in Revelation chapter
17 and verse 14, says, These shall make war with
the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them that fight to lose
the battle. Though it never revels, we would
withstand, or attempt to withstand, by a power of the only book we
have, to fight to lose the battle. They sure are to be overcome. They sure are to be defeated.
Anyhow, that they shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb
shall overcome them. Why shall He overcome them? He is Lord of lords and King
of kings. That's the reason. Lord of lords
and King of kings, and they that are with Him are called God's
chosen. And they're chosen because God
chose them. They're called chosen and faithful. But anyhow, that which I want
you to see is, for He is Lord of lords, and King of Kings.
Now, that's three particular passages of Scripture here in
the Bible that certainly are not isolated passages of Scripture
by any means, and they're not taken out of their setting or
their context, and they all three apply to Him, the Lord Jesus
Christ, who is Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and the Great
and Mighty Pope King. Now, there's no higher name or
title to set forth dignity among men than the title of kings or
folk-takers. Now, the scriptures say that
the Lord Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and
a great, mighty folk-taker. It says also the King Invisible,
Immortal, and overly wise God, according to the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, our Lord Jesus Christ comes
to the date today that he has by right of title and right as
Lord of Lords and Pope, date by birth, in that he is the eldest
son to a mighty emperor. And so, the rightful heir of
kingship. In Colossians 1 and 15 it says
that he is the firstborn of every creature and thereby heir of
all things, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus has glorious and
mighty qualifications in that he is not only endued with natural
wisdom, and that far beyond Solomon, in that the Scriptures say a
greater than Solomon is he. The Lord Jesus Christ has
also had the advantage of such an education that no other person
has ever had. In that he was brought up in
God's church, so is he endued with all wisdom, all wisdom. The treasure of wisdom is in
Christ Jesus. His wisdom personifies His knowledge. His wisdom personifies. He has
all the treasures of wisdom in Him. He is skilled in all politics. He has knowledge of all laws.
In fact, the book of John chapter 21, let me read this, chapter
21 of the book of John, And verse 17 tells us here that
he knows all things, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords,
King of Kings, and only the Holy Spirit. Not only is he of all
politics and all the things that God has built up in him, it says
that he knows all things. Listen to this. In this 18th
verse, No, not the 18th verse. 17th verse of that 21st chapter. He said unto him the third time,
talking to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou thee? Peter was three, his father because
he asked him the third time, Loves now me, that great Peter's
heart that bothered him because he said that. So Peter said unto
him, and he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things. Thou
knowest all things. Thou knowest. And I am unto thee. Jesus said unto
him, Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest. And I am unto thee.
Jesus said unto him, Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest all
things. Thou knowest. And I am unto thee. Jesus said unto him, Thou knowest all
things. Thou knowest all things. Thou
knowest. And I am unto thee. Jesus said unto him, Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest
all things. Thou knowest. And I am unto thee. Jesus said
unto him, Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest all things. Thou knowest. And
I am unto thee. Jesus said unto him, Thou knowest all He has
all treasures of wisdom in him. He's skilled in all the politics,
has knowledge of all law, and knows all things, and the scriptures
refer to him as this. He is called the wisdom of God,
and he's called Christ, the power of God, and the wisdom of God. He certainly manifests. that takes a day of his office
in that he has power, unlimited power. Turn with me again, if
you will, to the book of Matt, chapter 28, the last chapter
of the book of Matt. You'll want to read the verse
here. That will substantiate what I've said in regard not
only through his power and skill in the knowledge of the law and
through all the wisdom that he had, but also his power. I want
you to see this in Matthew chapter 28 and verse 18. This is what it says, "...and Jesus
came and spake unto them." This is after the resurrection. The
Lord Jesus came and spake unto his disciples, and he said, All
power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Power means authority. He said unto them, he said, All
power, all authority, all the authority in heaven and in earth
is given unto me. Let me read it out of verse.
in connection with that. John chapter 17. John 17, listen
to this. The second verse of the 17th
chapter. Now listen, "...as thou hast
given him power over all things." All power is given unto me. All the power of heaven, all
the power of earth is given unto me. I have power over everything
that moves. I have power over the seen and
the unseen, the visible and the invisible. I have power over
principalities, and powers, and opinions, and spirits. I have power over everything. I'm talking about the Lord Jesus
Christ, who the Scriptures say is Lord of Lords, King of Kings,
and the only Holy King. He has power over all men. This scripture here says, As
thou hast given him power over all men, that he should give
his final life to as many as thou hast given him. He has power
over all men. There is not a man that was ever
born a woman. that was born outside or lived
outside the realm of the power of Jesus Christ. Yes, the power of the Lord is
great. I told you Wednesday night that even the devil comes under
the power of God. Even the devil himself can't
wiggle his tail unless he's permitted to by God himself. God has him
on a chain. God has him on a leash. He is
not permitted to... Some seem to think that if the
people die, it's the devil that kills. That the devil has power
to kill. The devil has no power to kill.
The devil can't do anything unless God permits it. And he must seek
the permission of God before he can satanize that. That's
right. That's right, the devil came
from going to and fro to this old earth, seeking whom he might
devour. He came to God. The Lord said,
what are you up to now? I am seeking whom I might devour. He said, what about my right
to serve with Job? What about him? I said, you got
a fence about him. You got a hedge about him. I
can't get to him. If I could get to him, he said,
I think he'd curse you. Well, the Lord said, I'll take
the fence down. I'll take the fence down, and
I'll let you get to him. He said, you can do anything
you want to him, but you can't kill him. He done everything under this
sun," told Job. You see, the devil is God's devil. You remember that. You remember
that he's God's devil. He's God's devil. He's under
the power of God. He's not omniscient, omnipresent,
and sovereign like God, like the Lord Jesus Christ. He is
not everywhere, at all times, in all places, and no song. Oh, no, sir. He's limited in
power. Even the devil is God's devil
and comes under the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every
soul, everything that moves and talks at eye level is under the
power of the Lord Jesus Christ and he has that in his hand.
That's right. ever so that moves and breathes
is in the hands of Jesus Christ. That's what he's saying right
here in John chapter 17, verse number 2. Read it again. As thou
hast given him power, power, power, authority over all things. He has authority over all things.
There's nothing that moves if he doesn't have the authority
over it. Praise God, that's true. That's
true, I'm telling you this evening about the Lord of Lords, the
King of Kings, and the only Pope of Kings, Jesus Christ. He's
the only one worth talking about. I get sick of talking about other
things, don't you? I do, I really do. I talk with
people every day, and rarely do we talk about that which is
important, that which is valuable, that which is worthwhile. Someone
talks to him, you talk about whether the fire's cut deep there,
whether Philadelphia's got a good team, you talk about whether
the Ag is going to have a good fire or not, or whether The decision
that the president made in regard to the B-1 bomber was a good
decision or a poor decision. Whether the coal miners are going
to go on strike or not, or whether the mayor is going to get their
pensions taken away from them, or whether the health and welfare
of the United Mine Workers is going to hinder people from going
back. We talk about everything under
the sun except that which is worthwhile. There's nothing worthwhile
talking about in this world. You know, I'm not saying that
every word has got to be, has got to be of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We can't have any conversation with anybody about what I'm saying.
For the most part, there's nothing worthwhile talking about except
the name of Him who's Lord of Lords and King of Kings. And
only Pope Terry. He's the only one worth talking
about. Why? Because all power is given to
Him. Pope's knowledge is given to
Him. He's King of Kings. There's none like unto the Son
of God. I told you this morning that
it was a man. He's a man, flesh and bone. That's right, he's
a man, flesh and bone. That's the way it was the first
time. And that's the way he'll be when
he comes again, flesh and bone, flesh and bone. When the skies
break open and the Lord Jesus Christ comes back, according
to Matthew Chapter 24, comes back with his all holy angels
with him, he's going to come back and say, look, a man, a
man, a man. There's no man, no man that has
power like that who lives in the Lord. Does not the scripture
say that we have no B-H-R between? God and man except the man, Christ
Jesus. He's the head of every man on
this earth. He's the head of every man. The
Bible says that the man is the head of the woman. That's right.
I know men and women deny that. Churches deny that nowadays.
That's right. That's the reason that the women
run everything. They run the churches, they run
the homes, they run the jobs, and then now they're trying to
get into the government, gnawing at the government, making a big
fuss because they're not appointed this and that and so forth. But
the scriptures say that man is the head of the woman. That's
what it says. And it says, and the head of
every man is Christ. That's what it says. Jesus Christ has head and dominionship
over every man that ever lived, ever will live in heaven and
in earth and in hell. He has dominion and commands
wicked spirits in high places and wicked spirits
in hell. There's nothing Nowhere or no
place that moves that can move from His dominion. His dominion,
His kingdom, His power extends from the uttermost to the uttermost. There's no escaping the power
of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has a crown to wear, He has
a scepter to wield, and He has a throne to set upon. He has
certainly greater prerogatives and rights and privileges and
excellences than any king that ever lived upon this earth. I'll
tell you why. Because the Lord of lords and
the king of kings and the old and potentate, what can he do?
He receives petitions. He can receive petitions. Stephen
said, receive, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. You remember the first,
the first deacon, he was killed for his testimony, his preaching,
told about the Lord Jesus Christ, told the Jewish people how they
had crucified the Lord of Glory and you have killed the Prince
of Life. And so they gathered stones, saw tarses, later on,
whose name was Paul, held the coat of those that stoned Stephen
to death, and as he drew his last breath, he said, Lord Jesus,
receive my spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ, he receives
petitions, he pardons offenders. The Son of Man has power to forgive
sins. Nobody has power to forgive sins
on this Earth or in the Heavens apart from the Lord Jesus Christ.
He has power to do so. Power and right and forgiveness
and excellency to forgive sins. Nobody can do that. Priests can't
do that. Priests can't do it. The Church
can't do it. Nobody can do it but Jesus Christ.
He's the only one who can do that. He pardons offenders. He forgives poor sinners. He
forgives them of their sins for time and eternity. He blots out
their past. He blots out their present. He
blots out their future. He has power to do that. No one
else has power. You see why? The scripture says
that He's Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and the Old Black Pope
came. He has this right. He has these
excellencies, far more than any earthly king has. He confers honor. The scripture
says that he puts men in the ministry. Men do not take the
ministry upon themselves. I thought about this, and I thought,
have I, have I myself taken the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Have I taken this upon myself without being called? Have I
done that? I've studied it. It's no small
matter. It's no small matter nor no light
thing to stand at the sacred place and to tamper and to handle
and to turn the pages and to read, to expound and to explore
and to teach and to instruct the Word of Almighty God to people. No, I'll tell you. Boy, don't
take it. Don't run without being sent. Make sure, make sure. Well, I
happened to be one time, I said, about not preaching. Do you think
that I ought to preach? I want to preach and this and
that. I said, don't do it. Don't do it if you can do anything
else. And if you're satisfied, don't
do it. Don't do it. If you can dig in
the ditch and be satisfied, if you can work in the mine and
be satisfied, if you can be a teacher in a college, a teacher in a
high school, a president of a college, a doctor, anybody. If you can
do anybody in this world and be satisfied and good, don't
preach the gospel. Don't try to preach. Don't even
prepare yourself for it. Don't do it. Don't do it. My soul this evening, Jesus Christ,
the Lord of Lords, King King. Confers honors upon men and calls
them to ministry. It does. Nobody can do that. Nobody can do it. Church can
do it. I know there's lots of Mamas and lots of Papas that
call their children into ministry. I know. I know. But I'm talking
about divinely called by God Himself. Let me read something
to you. Well, of course, I think you
know about Paul saying that God have put me into the ministry
of the very first heaven. God spoke and God called me. He put me into the ministry.
I didn't have a single solitary thing to do with it. God put
me into the ministry. He made me willing when I was
unwilling. That's right. Someone said, well, you mean
that God does things against your will? He certainly doesn't
do things against your will, but he makes you willing. See,
he makes you willing to do his will. See? The old Puritans used
to say this. The old Puritans used to say
that God saves a man against his will with his own sin. You see that? God saves a man
against his will with his own sin. That's saying that God makes
a man willing in the day of his power to comply with whatever
terms God has for him. God makes him willing. The Lord
Jesus Christ confers honors, puts men into the ministry. He
gives commissions. He gave a commission unto the
church. He said, go ye there, in Matthew 28, what? Go ye there
where the law of the world preaches the gospel. Told the church that
that's what I want you to do. I want you to go in the world. I don't want you to be, don't,
don't, we're not socializing this world with the social gospel.
I'm not worried about whether the mafias will take over or
not, and that's not your business, or whether or whether bingo is
legalized, or whether naked women dances in massage parlors. That's not what I want you to
do. I want you to go preach the gospel. Go feed the affords of all the
world and preach the gospel. Preach the gospel. Paul says,
Woe is me if I preach the gospel. He gives commissions. He receives
tribute. Oh my soul, the Lord Jesus Christ,
He's King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Oh, you know earthly kings,
earthly sovereigns are limited in power and confined to certain
parts of the earth. The King of England, used to
have dominion in parts of China, India, over in Africa, Australia,
even here in the United States of America. He had dominion.
We had to form the colonies. We were a colony of who? Of the King of England. We come
under his dominion. But even at that, his power,
his dominion was limited to just a little bit of the topside of
God's green earth. But the Lord Jesus Christ is
King of kings and Lord of lords have unlimited power, unlimited
power. And he is not confined to certain
parts of the earth, but his power extends, as I said previously,
in heaven and in earth, over angels, over principalities,
and all flesh are subject unto him. Well, if all of this be
true which I have said thus far, how does this relate to me? How
does this pertain to me? Well, I think by this which I
have said in regard to him, we can clearly see the undoubted
right which the Lord Jesus has to all the work of God's hand. We can see that it is the duty
of all men, both men and angels, to obey God. To disobey Him is for man to act by unrighteousness. But yet, if we face the truth,
we know that the majority of people, the majority of flesh,
on the top side of God's green earth, at any time, have not been obedient to the
King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, like the Carolingians. Kings and princes, Know this,
all judges of the earth, they owe homage and service to him. And the scripture says that every
man is therefore commanded to kiss the sun, lest he be angry
and keep being consumed. And he's right. Kiss the sun. Well, here's another thing. all rebels and those that are
guilty of treason against the King of Kings and the Lord of
Lords. He has power to punish all treasons. He has power to punish and put
down all rebellions, all misdemeanors and indignities. All that will
not hear Him and obey Him will be destroyed. God will do. That's how that relates to us.
He's Lord of Lords, King of Kings, the only Pope to take. He has
power to punish all disobedient, disloyal, treasonous subjects. He has power to punish them,
and he will do so. They'll be destroyed. They'll
be destroyed. But as you know, are proclaimed at their install. Over in the book of 1 Samuel
chapter 10, you don't have to turn there. 1 Samuel chapter
10 verse 24 it says, See him whom the Lord hath chosen. And all the people gave a shout
and said, God save the king. That was at the king's install. Jesus Christ was first proclaimed
by the angels. Luke chapter 2 and verse number
11. It says, "...to you is born in
the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord." Afterward,
he was proclaimed by the wise men at Jerusalem, by Herod's
court, then by his son, and then by the shepherds. at Bethlehem. He is King of Kings and Lord
of Lords. What a happy statement the whole
universe will be when in God's appointed time, when this great
and good Pope shall take to him his great power and obtain a full possession
of all of which is rightfully his. The scriptures say that every
man shall sit under his own vine, and under his own fig tree, and
none make him afraid. And peace will be for all the
ends of the earth, when this great and mighty oak tree with his holy angels, and makes
this earth his footstool. God help us to see that we might
kiss the Son. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
and we be consumed in His wrath. He's King of Kings, do you believe
that? The Lord of Hosts isn't unlike Him, unlike Him. Let's give Him our allegiance.
Let's give Him our love. Let's pay our homage, which is
gifting. May God bless thee. Reading of the Word here this
evening to our home. Let's stand and go.
