This sermon expounds on the theme of God's unconditional and sovereign grace, emphasizing that His love and salvation are bestowed freely upon sinners without any merit or condition. Drawing primarily from Hosea 14:4, the text highlights how Christ's atoning blood has turned away God's anger, securing free justification and righteousness for believers. The message underscores that redemption is a gift received through faith, not earned by works, reflecting the eternal choice of God before the foundation of the world. It encourages believers to rejoice in this unmerited favor and to approach the throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and help. Ultimately, the preacher aims to inspire awe and gratitude for the costliness of this free salvation to the Savior while remaining freely available to the redeemed.

Open your Bibles, if you would, to the book of Hosea, the book of Hosea, chapter 14. We'll read one verse, one verse in Hosea, chapter 14, which will be verse four. The name of the message is loved freely. Now, I want us to think about this. God's people are loved with an everlasting love freely, not based upon anything in us at all. That's absolutely amazing. You know, it's just amazing. Look at this, look at this. Hosea chapter 14, verse four. I will heal their backsliding. I will love them freely, for mine anger is turned away from them. How is God's anger towards we chosen sinners turned away?

By the perfect sin-atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ and through his precious, precious blood. Isn't that wonderful? Oh, praise God. Praised by God. Now in grace, everything is free. As I mentioned earlier, it's all according to the free and sovereign grace of God in Christ. It's all free. It's all free.

All that God does for men and women is grace. Is grace. Mine. Because we don't deserve it. Can we even talk about God's grace without talking about how it's free? God's grace, Christ came according to the grace of God for his people. My. So grace, grace and free, look at our text too. I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely. God's grace is free grace. The two words are mutually exclusive. You can't divide them. You can't divide them.

God's grace towards us is free. And it's because of the grace of God towards us that we freely serve him. Isn't that amazing? He freely gives us grace and we freely serve him. My, oh my. So wherever you find the grace of God, it's free. It's free. My. It acts freely towards chosen sinners.

There's no cause in us that causes God's grace to come to us. There's nothing we can do. It's without condition. There's nothing we can do to merit God's grace towards us in Christ. It's without qualifications. You don't have to reach some pinnacle or some level, right, in order for God to bestow His grace upon you. He does it freely in Christ. It's wonderful. It's without constraint. Oh, think of the grace of God. He pours it out on us. He loves us with an everlasting love. You can't measure that love. You can't measure it. My, it's amazing. And you know what else? It's without cohesion. God doesn't say, well, you know, I'm gonna wait until you come. No, he makes us willing in the day of his power. Yeah.

If you're trusting Christ, it's not because you sought him, it's because he sought you. If Christ has saved you, It's because He sought you. It's because He redeemed you 2,000 years ago. And then the reason He redeemed you 2,000 years ago, and the reason you were born again by the Holy Spirit of God, is because God chose you in Christ before the foundation of the world, according to His everlasting love, which He's loved us freely with, and according to His free and sovereign grace. Oh, it's wonderful. Mm. Mm-mm-mm. My.

Let us first consider that God's love is free love. He freely bestows it upon whomever he wills. Listen to the wonderful promise in the verse we read. I will heal their backsliding. See, we fell in Adam. We were far from God. We're bought nigh by the blood of Christ. Oh my, look at this. I will love them freely. according to his free and sovereign grace, for my anger is turned away from them.

God's anger towards his people has been totally extinguished by the perfect, sinatoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through his magnificent, precious blood, the blood of the God-man, the blood of God incarnated in the flesh, the sinless one, the Holy One of God. Oh my, my, beloved God, Our great God freely chose us in Christ according to his great and everlasting mercy.

And he freely redeemed us by his blood. God the Son freely redeemed us by his blood. The blood of the precious Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. And then he lovingly called us by the Holy Spirit of God. Oh, it's wonderful. He called us to Christ. He gave, we were born again, and he gave us faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, all according to the grace and mercy of God, that great love. Oh, can you see how he's loved us freely, beloved? Rejoice. Rejoice.

And God's justification is free justification. To be justified before God is for God to look upon us and not see sin. To be blameless before God. My, and listen to this, all who are saved by the grace of God in Christ are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Because of his precious blood, he redeemed us out from under the law, he paid for all our sins, Christ did, the sinless one, dying for sinners, and therefore, we have redemption, we have salvation, we have deliverance from all our sins. by and through the Lord Jesus Christ. And our justification is being made righteous before God. The unrighteous are made righteous before God in and through the Lord Jesus Christ.

And as we see in Romans 3.24, it involves blood. The redemption is through the blood of Christ. Let me read that again. God's people are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Oh, my. Oh, redemption through the blood of Christ. And as a result, we have the forgiveness of all our sins, beloved. And then we're clothed in the perfect righteousness of Christ, the very righteousness of Christ.

Isn't that wonderful? Freely given to us by God. And the righteousness of God belongs to God select from eternity. Isn't that amazing? By virtue of our eternal union with the Lord Jesus Christ, and God himself clothes every one of his people in the righteousness of Christ. Remember the Prodigal Father? Bring forth the best robe. That pictures the righteousness of Christ. The best robe, the best robe, oh my.

And we're born again, we're made partakers of the divine nature, all by faith in Christ Jesus, which is a gift of God. According, according to his everlasting righteousness, his everlasting love, his everlasting mercy, and his everlasting grace. Now this justification we have in and through the Lord Jesus Christ is completely free for us. who are justified freely by God's wondrous grace through the redemptive accomplishments of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that we who are the redeemed marvel at this fact. This wonderful justification before God is free to us, but oh, what a cost to our Savior. Cost him his life, cost him his life's blood, right? As he gave himself an offering for our sin. My, what a Savior.

Number three, God's salvation through Christ is free salvation. Free salvation. Listen to this. This wonderful verse. I will give to them that is a thirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Freely. We see that Christ gives salvation freely and he invites you to take the salvation. He gives freely as a gift. It's a gift, a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. But a gift must be received. Gift must be received, must be taken.

And if you have God's salvation, you must receive it from Christ Jesus, our Lord. Listen to this. John chapter one, verses 12 to 13. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name, which were born, oh, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but of God. That means be born again by God's power. We are told now through Christ, the blood of Christ, that we as believers can therefore come boldly, because of the blood of Christ, we can therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy to help.

Mercy and find grace to help in time of need. When are we not in a time of need? And so we can find grace and mercy, grace to help and mercy at the throne of God. Come freely to the throne of grace, where mercy free abounds. Mercy designed to meet your case.

So pray and spread your wounds. Come heavy-hearted, pour out your groans, your every burden bring. Don't leave anything behind. To him who loves to hear your groans, hear love eternal springs. The spring of living water flows to thirsty, needy hearts. In every time of need, God knows what comforts to impart. Amen and amen.
