Last night we came back over to the building and we had all that pizza to eat. And there was a raccoon sitting out there on the garbage can, still eating, continuing to feed on what had been provided. All that message. I want to be like that fat little raccoon back there. I just want to continue to to feed, that was such a blessing. Turn with me to Psalm 111. Psalm 111. Lord willing, I wanna look at one verse of scripture here. Verse nine of Psalm 111.

I told Paul this before the service started years ago before my grandpa passed away, my papa. We took turns sitting with him and couldn't sleep. And I went and found his Bible, not a mark in it, not one note, not one name, nothing except for this one passage of scripture that he had highlighted. I look this up, there's 31,102 verses of scripture in God's word. And yet this one was the one that was highlighted. Lord willing, I pray you enable me to bring a message from this this morning.

Look at verse nine, it says, he sent redemption unto his people. He hath commanded his covenant forever. Holy and reverend is his name. Who did all these things? Look how he starts the passage here. He. He. Well, who is he? He's almighty God. All things. All things begin with God. You read that passage to us. In the beginning, God. All things begin with him. Let me read just a few more scriptures to you concerning him. In John chapter one, verse three, it says, all things were made by him. Everything. There wasn't anything made that wasn't made by him. 2 Corinthians 5 verse 18. All things are of God. All things. All things are of God.

Who hath reconciled. He hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. And he's given us the ministry of reconciliation. Be ye reconciled. Colossians 1, by him were all things created, which are in heaven and earth, invisible, visible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers, all things were created by him and for him. We talk about the Bible. I've heard men refer to it as a hymn book. It truly is, and it's all about him. It's concerning him. Our Lord, he began at Moses and the prophets, and he began to expound the scriptures, the things to his disciples, those things concerning himself.

God's the first cause of all things. All things in eternity. All things in time. All things in the future. What we consider good things and what we consider bad things. Material, physical, all things in our life. He doeth all things according to His will. He is, He's sovereign in all things. All things are of God.

He, and that's very important, isn't it? Now, just three points here. Just a short, short outline. Look at this scripture. He sent redemption to his people. He hath commanded his covenant forever. Holy and reverend is his name. He sent Redemption. Redemption. A ransom. He paid the redemption price. He paid the ransom price. In Job 33, we read this. Deliver him from going down to the pit, for I have found a ransom. A ransom unto his people.

Who are, who is this people that we read of here? Well, listen, that word, people, it's interpreted this, a particular people, a nation, a kindred, a people. Over in Revelation 5 verse 9, we read, just listen, thou hast redeemed us to God out of thy blood, every kindred, tongue, people, and nation.

His people were described in God's word as his flock. He's the great shepherd. He has a flock. He has, they're his. Isn't that what God's word says? A people for which he died. A people of whom which he saved. People which he Redeemed and that listen there are sinful a sinful people She shall bring forth a son thou shalt call his name Jesus for he shall save His people he came to save somebody didn't he he came to save his people Did he come to save everybody It's not what the word of God says, is it? He came to save his people. And he's gonna save them from their sin. Our Lord said, he said, I laid down my life for the sheep.

It's a purchased people, isn't it? Purchased with his own blood. Acts 20 verse 28. Take heed therefore unto yourselves and to all the flock over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers to feed the church of God which he purchased with his own blood.

A people his from all eternity. He chose us in Christ from before the foundation of the world. The people that are his, he is by choice. Whose choice? His choice. Our Lord said this, he said, you've not chosen me. We hear that? You've not chosen me. And we never would. But I have chosen you. "'Tis not that I did choose thee, for Lord, that could not be. "'This heart would still refuse thee, had thou not chosen me.'" His people, his people from all eternity, a people, his by choice. What else do we know about this people? People gone astray. All we like sheep have gone astray. We've turned everyone to which way? Our way. That's our favorite way, isn't it? Our way. And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. All of our iniquity laid on him. Our Lord told that parable in Luke 15 about that one lost sheep. And he said, what man of you having a hundred sheep if he lose one of them? Does he not leave the 99 and go into the wilderness and go after that sheep that which he seeks after it?

And he finds it, and he places it, he picks it up, place it on his shoulder, brings it home, and he calls all of his friends together. We rejoice, don't we? We rejoice when the Lord's pleased to save one of his sheep. Rejoice with me. I have found my sheep, which was lost. Just that one sheep going astray, but he went and he found it. returned unto the bishop and shepherd of our souls. Oh, we must have him. We must have that great shepherd of the sheep.

We've wandered. Oh, we've wandered. We've wandered far from the fold. How far? Scriptures declare this. We're dead. We're dead. A people gone astray. And yet, a kept people. Kept by the power of Almighty God. A redeemed people. We just read that. He sent redemption unto his people. And listen, if he sent redemption unto his people, I think we can rest assured of this, They're gonna be redeemed. He loved us. He gave himself for us. We're not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold or our vain conversations. We're redeemed by the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. What else do we know about this?

It's a people called by the Spirit of God. He said this, he said, my sheep hear my voice. You ever talk to your kids and they try to put their hands over their ears and covering them up? No trying to do that with our Lord, is there? When he speaks, he speaks in power. He said, I call my sheep. He said, they hear my voice and they follow me. He speaks through his word by the power of his spirit. That's remarkable, isn't it? He can penetrate the heart. The people that he knows by name, every one of them, Calls by name. Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus, come down. Lazarus, come forth. Matthew, follow me. And there's so many, there's so many in scripture, we don't know their names. We don't have to, he knows their name. He knows us, listen, not only our name, He knows us so intimately. The very hairs of our head are numbered.

There are people that are eternally His. I give them eternal life. They shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. He sent redemption to his people. Second, we read of a covenant. He hath commanded his covenant forever. I like that word commanded. Does that sound like anybody that's wringing their hands out at the doorsteps of heaven? He commands. He speaks, he doesn't speak like man, he speaks in power. He commanded his covenant. A promise.

David back there in 2 Samuel, he said, although my house be not so with God, yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure. This is all my salvation. This is all my desire, although he make it not to grow. An eternal covenant made with Christ, from the beginning, our surety, our sanctification, our mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ.

In Jeremiah 32 verse 40, word of God says, I'll make an everlasting covenant with him. I'll not turn away from him to do them good, but I'll put my fear in their hearts and they shall not depart from me. Just listen to some of those words in that covenant. He said, I will, I will. Not I might, not I want to, I will. God has made an everlasting covenant.

He said, I'll not turn away from them. Well, we give him every reason to, don't we? And we would turn away, but he won't. I'll never, I'll never leave them nor forsake them. And they'll not, they'll not depart from me. We're kept, kept by the power of God. Our Lord said, he said, no man, no man's gonna pluck them out of my hand. Can't pluck them out of my hand. Can't pluck them out of my father's hand. More secure is no one ever than the loved ones of the Savior.

An everlasting covenant. And listen, that's not my promise. That's God's promise. That's the word of God. God who cannot lie. Our Lord said, all that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. All that God the Father chose, all that the Son purchased, all that the Spirit of God calls to himself are gonna come. His covenant. And it's an eternal covenant. Forever his people. His covenant.

And then the third point, we read of His name. His name. Verse nine, holy and reverend is His name. Men, men like titles, they, You just drive by, you'll see it, right? The most holy, reverend. Scripture says holy and reverend is his name. He's holy. He's holy. Listen, we see that throughout the scriptures. We read of the Lord who's in his holy temple. That's where he resides.

Everything about God. everything having to do with God, he said to be holy, his holy angels, his holy spirit, his presence was manifested where? In the holy of holies. That miter of the high priest, remember it had these words, holiness to the Lord and without holiness, no man will see. And when God manifests his grace, when he manifests his mercy, when he manifests his love, it's in keeping with his holiness. God is holy. How holy is he?

Well, Adam was separated from his presence when he broke his law, wasn't he? Moses couldn't look upon him and live. Uzzah, remember that? He just reached up to steady the ark on that wagon and God slew him. The seraphims, they cover their faces before him. Isaiah, remember what he cried out when he caught a glimpse of God's hope? He said, woe is me, I am undone. Unclean lips, and I dwell among a people with unclean lips. Mine eyes have seen the king, the Lord of hosts. How holy is he? What happened when sin was found on his son? When my sin was found on his son, God slew him. Holy and reverent. A name to be revered. A name to be exalted. We started with that scripture. We've read that, I believe, every day. God, Christ, is to be exalted. His name is above every name.

Jesus Christ Lord He's Lord of creation all things were made by him Made for him made through him and he will have the preeminence over all things Lord of heaven and of earth He said all Authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth He's Lord. He's Lord of the living and the dead The Lord reigneth. He died that he might be Lord of both the living and the dead. He's gonna quicken whom he will by his power. He's the Lord of salvation. Neither is there salvation in any other. Thou hast given me, Thou hast, Almighty God gave him, gave the Lord Jesus Christ power over all flesh.

That one born of Mary, that one born in a manger, was ordained of God, approved of God, predestinated of God, and sent into this world. He is God, he's God in human flesh. that one we crucified and nailed to the cross. God exalted him. God raised him from the dead and has given him a name above every name. When God raised him from the dead, when he exalted him in glory, he declared he's Lord. and you read this to him, every knee is gonna bow, every tongue is gonna confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. All creation, all power, all judgment, all authority, all salvation, all life, everything is in his hands. God has given him a name above every name. Holy and reverend is his name. His name, his character is worthy. He's to be revered. We should be in awe every time. Every time we think upon him. He's perfect, he's complete, he's holy.

We shouldn't even speak his name without a solemn thought. Some of those old Jews, they didn't even wanna pronounce it, did they? Shouldn't we, every time we hear his, shouldn't we just receive that? Shouldn't we hear that with a profound honor and respect?

A name to be trembled at, to be feared. Back there in 1 Samuel, you remember that account of David and Goliath. We've probably all heard that from the time we were just little children. But the Philistines, they said to David, they said, Goliath said, come to me and I'll give your flesh unto the fowls of the air and to the beast of the field. Don't fear. We're not to fear, are we?

Remember what David said to that Philistine. He said, you come to me with a sword and a spear and with a shield. I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, I have defied the name of the Lord. And he said, this day, this day the Lord's gonna deliver you into my hand and I'm gonna smite you and I'm gonna take your head off to you and I'm gonna give your carcass and the host of the Philistine to the fowls of the air and the wild beasts there for this reason. So people could go back and say, Oh, what a miraculous thing. Little David threw some stones and killed Goliath.

No, for this purpose, that the earth may know, the whole world may know that there is a God in Israel. Holy and reverent is his name. To be feared, to be reverenced by all his creatures, all his saints, all the angels in heaven. Who gets the glory in that? He sent redemption to his people. He hath commanded his covenant forever. Holy and reverent is his name.

Back in Exodus 5, 2, Pharaoh asked this question. He said, who's the Lord? Oh, who is the Lord that I should obey his voice and let Israel go? Who is the Lord? He's who he says he is. That one who has eternally redeemed his people. He's a covenant God of a covenant people. Holy and Reverend is his name. Do you still have Psalm 11? Let me just read this last verse. Verse 10, fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding have all they that do his commandments. His praise, his praise endureth forever. That's what we'll do in eternity, isn't it? Praise, praise him. All right.
