for all the work that goes into this meeting. We know something about that. Thank you, Brother Clay, for having us. Mark chapter 5 is just one chapter in the Gospels. Basically, one day in the life, the earthly life, of our Lord Jesus Christ. I titled this message, The Amazing Lord and Savior. In one day, all that he did in one day, he came into this world to save sinners and every waking hour was spent in going in the direction, looking for his lost sheep, his children, to bring them into the fold, everything. It was the purpose for coming here, wasn't it? and every single, he traveled, he walked thousands of miles, if not in a ship, he walked to the uttermost parts of Israel, Tyre and Sidon, to that lowest part everywhere, east, west, north, and south, like Isaiah said, bringing his children into the fold. Our amazing Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John said, if all that was written that he had done, The world couldn't contain the books, couldn't it? And so much is contained in just this chapter, Mark 5. But it begins really, you know the Bible wasn't written in chapters and verses, you know that. And it all goes together, but right before this, Mark 4, look at Mark 4, look up there in verse 32.

Psalm 107, verse 36, they sent the multitude away and he took him in a ship and they were also with him other little ship. There arose a great storm of wind. And Psalm 107 says that he's the one that raises the stormy wind. Caleb was playing that, every stormy wind.

Did we sing that yesterday? I think we did. Anyway, I love that song, don't you? As we go through these trials, these storms of life, well, who sends them? The Lord and the Lord over all. The Lord that sends them all. That's where we get comfort and peace, isn't it?

He sent the trial. Well, he was right there with them. He went through everything they were going through. And he was asleep. I've often said, they should've just quit bailing water or whatever, go back there and just cuddle up and go to sleep. They can't die when he's in the ship. And he kept telling them, Clay, that he's going to the cross. Nothing could stop him from doing that. That was his purpose, wasn't it? He kept telling them, and they just didn't hear him.

So they were fearful, and verse 40, He said, why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith? They acted like they didn't have any faith. You ever act like that? Huh? Fearful. Is there anything you're afraid of? It's shameful, isn't it? He asked him, why are you so fearful? You know, Revelation 21 says the fearful and unbelieving are not gonna be in glory.

You know, mankind is afraid of anything and everything and everyone but God. Man's afraid of everything and everyone except God. God's people fear the Lord, not like we should, but we do. And so if we really fear the Lord, we shouldn't be afraid of anybody. But I'm thankful he knows our frame, don't you? So he says, where's your faith? You know, trust. in him, trust in him.

The great Lord raised this storm for his disciples to teach them, to show them that he's the master of the sea, billows his will, obey. And I don't like the other line, he your savior wants to be. If he your savior came to be, you will be saved today. He's the Lord. He's not a figurehead like they put on those ships, you know. He really is. King of kings, Lord of lords. Master of the sea. Lord over the elements. Lord of the universe. Lord of this earth. He created it. It does his bidding. He's Lord of demons and devils.

Next chapter. Go to chapter five. Came over the other side of the sea, Why did he do that? You know, the disciples didn't know where he was going or what he was doing from day to day. He'd say, get in the ship, we're going to cross over. We just came from there.

He didn't give an account. God doesn't give an account of his master. They didn't need to know what he was doing, did they, Brother Clout? Did they, Eric? They didn't need to know. He knows. He knows, and we don't know. We don't know what tomorrow holds. We don't need to know. You don't want to know. Sufficient for that day is the troubles and the evils there. You don't want to know. You don't know. Just trust in the Lord right now and leave it all to him. He might as well. He's in control of it anyway. But he didn't tell him. But what he was doing, like I said, he was on the trail of his sheep. He had them get in a ship, go through a storm for hours, and to cross all the way this raging sea to go to a cemetery where there's a man dead and trespassing the sins that he must bring into the fold. He's one of God's elect. Now, why would the Lord come to earth? Why would he come all this way for such creatures as us, huh? For his great love were with he loved us, even when we were dead in sin.

That's what you pray to. This man is living in the tomb. Who does the Lord need, this fella? And that was me, wasn't it? That was you, all of us. Living among dead. Well, he came for this man. Saved this lunatic. Lunatic. Why? To the praise of the glory of his grace. He came, came over, crossed the sea, a long ways to save this one man. And oh, the condescension of our Lord, how far he came, all the way from glory down to this cesspool called planet Earth, this present evil world, to save such as we are. My, my.

This man had legion of devils in him, demons, lust and so forth, and so did we. And then look what happened after it was over. We're not gonna deal with every verse. Verse 15, I came to Jesus and saw him that was possessed with the devil. He was possessed with the devil, and so was I, and so were those of you who, before the Lord came and quickened you by His grace, possessed the God of this world, held captive at His will. Isn't that what Scripture says? We were, we were. But a stronger than he bound the strong man, took his goods from him, that is those people, and now they belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was possessed with the devil. How do you know one that has been possessed with the devil is now possessed by Jesus Christ?

It's always the same. Verse 15, look at it. They found the one possessed with the devil sitting Where's he sitting? Where's he sitting, Eric? In a heavenly place. Where's that? At the feet of Jesus Christ. That's what he's doing. There you sit, Johnny Parker.

There was a day when, you're just like me, when you were a young buck, you know, you'd rather sit anywhere than there. And your dad brought you, Ed brought you, faithfully. Aren't you grateful? Brought you, made you sit there. I guess that when the time when you were old enough where you could get out, I'm out of here. Oh, aren't you thankful.

The Lord said, Johnny Parker, Paul Mayer, come on, sit down. You're out of your mind. I'm gonna clothe you and put you in your right mind, the mind of Christ. Your mind was set on things below. Now I'm gonna set them on things above. Your heart was going after this world. Now you're gonna go after Christ. He's sitting. He's right in mind. He's clothed. He's clothed in the righteousness of Christ. What a verse this is, huh? And they were afraid. I heard a story. My dad told this story.

A man in the church in Ashland, he was a pastor there. The Lord saved him. around her, you know, in his early days, and he worked at a steel mill, and the Lord saved him through preaching the gospel. That's what the Lord used him. That's what the Lord used him. He heard my dad preach, and the Lord saved him. Well, he went back to the steel mill and began to tell those men what great things the Lord had done for him and all, and you know what they said?

They said, we liked you better before. And that's right, and these people said, get out of here. Get out of here, we don't want you. We don't want your Lord, your gospel, and we don't want you around here. And this man begged the Lord, let me go with you. The Lord's leaving again. Eric, he said, get in the ship, we're going back over. He told his disciples, they just got there. Get back in the ship, we're going over to the other side. But Lord.

See, everything's ordained in his good time, isn't it? He's gonna find his sheep where he puts them in the time that he is gonna meet them, and that's what he did with this demoniac, and now he's gonna go back over, there's a ruler that he's got an appointment with, a divine appointment from before the founders were.

Well, here he came, came back over and bursts, 21 when he passed over again by ship to the other side much people were gathered under him now to see behold behold There cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue Jarius was his name behold when the scripture says behold that's we need to stop Look listen consider this this is something that you need to stop and think about Now behold and there are many beholds in the scripture Like Isaiah 42, behold my servant. My, my, we need to stop and think and consider. Consider him, Hebrews 3, the apostle and high priest of our profession. Behold my servant, he'll bring forth justice and judgment and he shall not fail and on and on it goes. We need to stop and think, stop our wild career and stop and consider who it was that came to this earth. And listen more earnestly, give earnest heed to what he said and what he did, lest at any time we let them slip. Behold who it was that came to this earth. Stop and think about it. Why would he come here? Because that's who he is. Because he's a great, amazing Lord and Savior. We need saving. And none of us are worth saving. We don't even know we need saving. You can't preach the gospel without saying, but God.

But God. Behold. Behold, here comes a ruler of the synagogue. Behold. Do you ever stop and think? I know you do. I know some of you. The fact that you hear the gospel and the Lord brings you to Christ that you come to him, no man can come to him except the father draw. No man will come, he said, you will not come. Like I was saying, I don't want to go there, I want to leave. I was raised there. When I'm old enough, I'm out of here. No, but God said, no you're not.

Come back here, prodigal son. Behold, look, he's sitting. He's where he wants to be now. He didn't wanna be, who changed his wannabe? Psalm 110 verse three, the Lord made him willing, when? In the day of his power. What's his power? Christ is a power of God. His word is a power of God. Preaching the gospel is a power of God. I wanna hear that preaching.

Yes you do, yes you will. And you come, you come. Behold, here comes a ruler of the synagogue, A Pharisee? Well, they're all fixed up. They got a righteous, they don't need that. The Pharisees hated Jesus Christ. The Sadducees, all these fellas, they were envious of him. He had more disciples than they did. Had more church members than they did. Oh, they hated Christ. Here comes one. Not many mighty, not many noble. Not many wise men are called. If it doesn't say not any, here he comes, Jairus.

When he saw Christ, what did he do? He fell at his feet. You know, every knee will bow. Every eye is going to see him. Every tongue is going to confess, most unwillingly, but be forced to say so. He's Lord. Bend the knee. Someday, every single human being is gonna bow the knee and confess with the tongue, He's Lord. It's great mercy, great grace, saving grace, the mercy of the Lord for you to know who He is now, to hear who He is, to see His glory, see your need of Him, to fear the Lord and bow the knee now and confess Him and get in that pool It's his mercy if you do that now. He won't come unless he makes you. This is not doctrine, people. This is God's glory and this is our salvation. Aren't you glad? Salvation is by command, by his power.

Oh, here he come, he come, he come. And he fell at his feet and he besought him greatly. He's coming, he heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, on behalf of his little daughter, verse 23. He besought Christ greatly. That means he's begging him, he's begging the Lord, crying to the Lord.

And he says, can you hear him weeping? To God, we did more of that for our little daughters and sons. Huh? In Jeremiah 9, I think it is, he said, women, teach your daughters to weep When our Lord was carrying his cross to Calvary, he stopped those women weeping. He said, don't weep for me. Weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and your children. Why?

You're on the verge of eternity. It's a life and death message, isn't it? We're not fun and games and frivolity like modern foolish religion. No, no, no, no. This is life or death. It really is. Today is a day of salvation. Us and our children need to hear this gospel now and bow now. Honestly, if we don't preach with this urgency, God hasn't called us. That's a fact. Isaiah had a burden. Jeremiah had a burden. These men had a burden. There was one old preacher said, I preach as one that may never preach again, as a dying man to dying men.

This man said, my daughter is dying. And that's true of all of our daughters. It's so. Dead and trespassing sin and waiting to die physically. It's serious, isn't it? That's why we don't play games. Brother Clay, that's why we lift up the remedy for sin. And every time, this is vital. We're all bitten by that serpent called sin, Satan, and there's only one cure, look. So we preach Christ, that's not a slogan, that's what we do because he's salvation. And we all need saving before it's too late. My little daughter's life at the point of death.

Anybody have a daughter that doesn't know God, that doesn't fear God, that doesn't know Jesus Christ? Huh? Hadn't bowed the knee, hadn't confessed Him in believers baptism? Anybody? She's dead, she's dying. A son? Could be a son too. A spouse? A husband, a wife? Anybody? Everybody knows somebody, don't they? We need to beseech the Lord. Lord, please. Look at him, verse 23. He said, I pray thee, I beg thee. He's praying, he's calling. Come and lay our hands on her. Get a hold of her. If you get a hold of her, she's got hold of.

Did you ever do that, Jeff? I know you did, I know you did. When your kids were young, did you ever grab a hold of them and say, how many times did you do that to that fellow? Ben, did you want me to shake him? Are you listening to me? Johnny, are you listening to me, Caleb? No, they're not. And we ain't listening to God either. And so he says, Lord, get a hold of her. I can't do anything with her. But if you do, you lay hold of her. She'll be healed.

Isn't that what we want for our children? Do we want them to be successful and wealthy? We want them to be healthy. We want them to prosper. That's not our great wish and desire and hope and prayer to God for our children, is it? One thing is needful. If they know the Lord, if the Lord saves their souls and reveals himself to them and Christ is their life, it doesn't matter what they do from then on. It doesn't matter if they're a garbage man or a governor of a state. No, it doesn't. One thing needful.

So we beseech the Lord, please lay hold of her. Get a hold, she's dead and she's dying. Well, verse 24, look at this. Jesus went with him. Would you come on? He did. Jeff, Lord of glory, I'm coming home with you. Really? You don't have any people around there? He went with him. He's coming, he's coming to his house. Zacchaeus was up a tree. All those people around him. And Brother John preached that message, and he called it Up a Tree on Purpose. That was Zacchaeus. Lord, where's the Lord gonna find him? Up a tree.

And he walked by, and he was ignoring everybody else, and stopped and looked up that tree, said, come down, I'm coming to your house. He didn't ask him, did he, Eric? He didn't ask him, can I come home with you? Can I be your guest? No, no, no, no, no, no. That house doesn't even belong to Zacchaeus. It belongs to the Lord. He gave the house to him. It's on loan. I'm coming to my house, your house. So he went home with this fella. He going home with this farmer and his Pharisee and all that. But look at verse 24. The crowd thronged him. There was a crowd around the Lord all the time. All the time. Thronged him.

He lost sight of the Lord. You know, in a crowd, the Lord was with him, and all of a sudden, he can't see him. Oh, no, I can't see. Where'd he go? He thought, oh, no. You know what he thought? He's gonna forget me. He was coming home with me and now he's thronging all these people and I can't see him. I can't see where is he? Where is he? I can't see him. Now he's gonna forget me. He ain't coming.

Brothers and sisters, you may forget the Lord, but if you know him, if you belong to him, he ain't gonna forget you. He said, I'll never leave you or forsake you. And when you can't see him, it's certain he sees you. When you don't think he's with you, oh my, he'll never leave you.

You're in his hands. You're in, talking about that union yesterday, you're in his heart. You're in his covenant. You're in his purpose. And though the crowd and the world and everything, you lose sight of him and trouble and you think, oh no, oh yes, it's his will. But he has not lost sight of you, and he's gonna bring you. If he's promised you, he's coming for you. Isn't that good news?

Well, there was a certain woman, there was someone else that had a need too. I entitled this home, Two Dying Daughters. Actually, both girls, both females, were the Lord's daughters. These were children of the Heavenly Father. These were his children. They were on loan to Darius.

And there's an older woman who has an issue of blood. We're not going to look at everybody, but you know the story, don't you? She had an issue of blood. 12 years. How old is she? 50? We don't know. Maybe 60. Okay. This young girl is 12 years old. Who's more desperate? Well, You know, we would think, well, this older woman is near her death.

Well, not necessarily. And yet the Lord put her first, didn't he? Didn't he? And put Jairus's daughter, he had her, he waited like Lazarus, didn't he, for her to die. And we're gonna see, she's not dead. But this woman, was, took our Lord's priority, okay.

Let me ask you a question. Can you be, if you have unsaved children or a spouse that you love and you have a great desire if the Lord would save them, if the Lord does not save them, could you be just as joyful and happy if the Lord saves somebody else's child? Can you?

Brother Johnny Parker's sitting there and Rhonda. We were talking yesterday and he was talking about both our granddaughters confessed the Lord and believers baptism not too long ago. And Johnny and Rhonda watched that. And Johnny was saying, he was just rejoicing, said he wanted to get up and shout, didn't he?

That's what you told me. He was so happy. Well, he had a daughter, not this one. He had another daughter that he loved dearly. He wants her to know the Lord, to confess the Lord. And you told me you wanted, what's wrong with you? Cary? Well, he was rejoicing that the Lord had dealt with our children, okay, just as much, if not more so, than what the Lord did, than his unsaved daughter. Well, lo and behold. This is the way the Lord does things. Yes, it is, isn't it, John? This is the way the Lord does things. You pray intercessory prayer, if you ask him, Lord, save them, he just might save yours. That's what he did. And he did.

Carry, didn't he? Well, we watched that. Didn't we, Amanda? Yeehaw! You're getting Pentecost. Well, sorry. I tell you, we're all gonna shout one of these days, aren't we? Hallelujah. Salvation is of the Lord. But can we rejoice in somebody else's salvation as much as our own?

Yeah. Because you know nobody deserves it. My children don't deserve it. They come from me. My, my. He did. This woman had an issue of blood. You know the story. The issue in our blood is sin. to put away, and she heard of Christ, verse 27. He came, here she comes.

In the press, in all this crowd, you know, this world thronging after Jesus, that they don't know the Lord Jesus. They don't fear. Everybody was there for the miracles and to get their belly full and all that, didn't they? Or weren't they? Yes, they were, the thousand. But this one dying woman knew she had an issue in her blood, and nobody could take care of it but Jesus Christ.

And she came crawling in the press. Nobody else is laying hold of him. Nobody else is reaching for the hem of his garment. Nobody else has an issue of blood, but she does. Well, that's who he came for. And she came crawling. And Luke's gospel, I think it is, it says, she touched, like just touched the hem of his garment. The hymn of the high priest Garmin had two things on it, bells and pomegranates. There's a reason for that. Look at that. In fact, just touch the hymn of this garden.

She touched, and it says, she said, I'll be whole, I'll be complete in hymn, hymn, H-E-M, hymn. Verse 29, straightway the fountain of her blood dried up. Her sin was gone. How? What is it that will dry up this sin and this flow of evil in us? There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Emmanuel's veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilt this day. Her fountain dried up because Christ's fountain flowed freely from Calvary's tree. Virtue went out.

He said, who touched my clothes? He looked around about to see her, verse 33, and a woman fearing, trembling, blessed are they that fear and tremble, knew what the Lord had done, and she confessed the truth. She said, I'm a sinner, you're my savior, you saved me, hallelujah, praise the Lord. Well, somebody came to old Darius and said, in verse 35, your daughter's dead.

Don't trouble the master any further. Can you trouble Jesus Christ? Can anybody impose upon the Lord Jesus, huh, ever? No, no. He's a very present helping hand. Full of mercy and compassion. He waits to be gracious. Mm, what a Lord, what an amazing Lord. Well, as soon as, he saith unto the ruler, verse 36, let me hurry. Be not afraid, only believe.

Isn't that how we started this in chapter four? Isn't it? Remember when he said to his disciples, why are you so fearful and have no faith? Now here he is again, Eric, in the end. Don't be afraid of diseases and germs and wars and men and things and all that. Fear the Lord. Believe and trust the Lord. Let's say all things are possible, didn't he say that? With man, it's impossible. With God, nothing too hard or impossible. Anybody got a dead daughter, a dead son, beyond hope? My brother-in-law, Mindy's brother, he's gone. We think he's good as gone, don't we? No, no, no, we don't know that, do we? We don't know that. That lunatic, he's gone. Oh, really? Well, he took James and Peter and John. He suffered no man to follow him.

You know the Lord raises up men to preach the gospel, and you're gonna know it. You're gonna hear them preach, and you're gonna know these are the men that God chose to preach the gospel, to bring his people into the camp. You're gonna know it. He comes to the house.

He went in the house, and they left him to scorn when he said, she's just sleeping. Oh my, how a man makes a mockery of death of God. He took the damsel, verse 41, by the hand. He spoke a language that nobody understood. They don't understand it today. In the gospel, the truth is a language that men don't understand, but God's people whom he calls, they know that he speaks to them.

He's speaking to her. Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. Lazarus come forth. She came. If the Lord just speaks to our children, that's all he needs. To bring them from what? Darkness. The Lord said, let there be light. Live, arise. One word. And straightway the damsel arose and walked. She's walking by faith. Look here, coming into the church house. Look who's walking into the church house. Look who's coming to hear the gospel. Can you believe it? A lunatic. Look who's coming to hear the gospel. My dead daughter was dying out in the world, captive to the world. Look here, she wants to sit and listen to the gospel.

Ain't that amazing? That's our amazing Lord and Savior, isn't it? Isn't he amazing? And he gave her something to eat. That's how you know she's hungry. She's hungry. Oh, don't, don't, don't despair of the Lord saving anyone. Like one fella said, I've never despaired of the Lord saving anybody since he saved me. There's hope. There's hope. Okay. Lord save. Bless you.
