How do we know Jesus is the fulfillment of the law?

Answered in 10 sources

Jesus is the fulfillment of the law because He perfectly accomplished what the law required, becoming our righteousness through His obedience.

The New Testament reveals that Jesus came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it entirely (Matthew 5:17). His perfect life and sacrificial death fulfilled the requirements of God's law, thereby bringing righteousness that is credited to believers (Romans 3:21-22). Unlike the Pharisees, who fell short due to their legalism, Christ's obedience made Him the spotless Lamb, meeting the law's demands on our behalf. Consequently, believers are seen as righteous in the eyes of God, not through their works but through faith in Christ's completed work.
