How do we know that Christ is our High Priest?

Answered in 14 sources

The Bible declares that Christ is our High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, having entered the holy place with His own blood (Hebrews 9:11-12).

In Hebrews 9:11-12, Christ is identified as our High Priest who has come to offer a once-for-all sacrifice for sins. This priesthood is in the order of Melchizedek, indicating a permanent and perfect priestly role that surpasses the Aaronic priesthood. Unlike the former priests, who had to repeatedly offer sacrifices, Christ's offering of Himself as the sacrifice has secured eternal redemption, showing that He is both the priest and the sacrificial lamb. This dual role underscores the completeness of His work and our reliance on Him for intercession before God.
