How do we know that God is just?

Answered in 13 sources

We know God is just because Scripture repeatedly affirms His perfect and unchanging nature, as seen in Proverbs 11:1, stating, 'A false balance is abomination to the Lord; but a just weight is his delight.'

God's justice is evident throughout Scripture, particularly in Proverbs where it emphasizes that He cannot tolerate any form of injustice. God’s justice means He does not justify the wicked or condemn the just; every verdict He pronounces is based on truth and righteousness. This unchanging nature guarantees that justice will always prevail in His dealings with humanity. As noted, all offenses against God require a just penalty, which is death, ensuring that every sin is accounted for adequately and truthfully.
