How does God reveal Himself to us?

Answered in 21 sources

God reveals Himself to us through His Word and the person of Jesus Christ, as well as through the experiences of His providence in our lives.

God reveals Himself primarily through His Word, the Holy Scriptures, which articulate His character, purposes, and directives for humanity. In addition, believers experience God’s revelation through the person of Jesus Christ, who embodies God’s love, grace, and truth. In John 5:20, it tells us, 'And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true.' This revelation is not merely intellectual but transformative, leading us into a personal relationship with Him. Additionally, God’s providential workings in our lives serve as a further demonstration of His nature and sovereignty, affirming that He is actively engaged in guiding and sustaining His people, ultimately bringing them to repentance and faith in Christ.
