What does the Bible say about building on a solid foundation?

Answered in 6 sources

The Bible teaches that those who hear and do the words of Jesus are like wise builders who construct their lives on a solid foundation, represented by Christ (Matthew 7:24-25).

In Matthew 7:24-25, Jesus illustrates the importance of obeying His teachings by likening those who do so to a wise man who builds his house on a rock. This foundation symbolizes the security and stability that comes from adhering to the teachings of Christ. When storms and floods of life come, a life built on this solid foundation will withstand trials, while a life built on anything else will ultimately fall. Therefore, it emphasizes the necessity to not just hear the Word of God but to actively apply it in our lives.
