All other crap is making sense. I'm going to close with a hymn, Rock of
Ages. I thought maybe you should have saved that one for last,
but that's just as good. Rock of Ages. Great. Let's go to Matthew 7. Let's read these few verses as we finish
up this study and the Sermon on the Mount. We will continue,
though, to preach from this beginning a couple of Wednesdays from now. We're going to pick up our study
and Exodus next Sunday, Lord willing, OK? One further comment. I hesitate
to say this. Every time I say it, I don't
do it. But I've been preaching too long. I apologize for that, and I'm
going to endeavor to shorten it. David said, I said in my haste,
all men are liars. OK, let's read these verses,
verses 24 through 29. Our Lord says, Therefore, whosoever
heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken
him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. And the
rain descended, and the floods came, or ascended, and the winds
blew. and beat upon that house, and
it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock. And everyone that
heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be
likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand."
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew,
and beat upon the house, and it fell. And great was the fall
of it." And he ended it. And it came to pass when Jesus
had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his
doctrine. For he taught them as one having
authority. And not as scribes. As we've noted so many times
in this study, the Lord Jesus Christ on this in this sermon
on the Mount is speaking to his disciples. He's speaking primarily
to his disciples, the apostles then. Who were with him and all
believers. Then and now, and although many
were listening in. There were many people listening
in, yet this was I directed at his time we know that he called
them the light of the world of the earth your father which is
in heaven so far. I keep stressing that. But there
were many people who were listening and that's the way it is whenever
God's word is. There's always a mixed crowd
in a public place is always sheep and goats always. Our Lord had twelve apostles,
did he not? One of them. There's a lot. There's always sheep and goats
mixed together. There always will be. The Lord said that.
Wheat and chaff. Wheat and chaff. Believers, unbelievers. But our Lord goes on to say,
this is how you'll know who it is. He said, true disciples will
hear. They'll hear. And we'll see in a minute, it
means not just with this ear, with this ear. They will hear,
they will believe. You haven't really heard something
if you don't, if it doesn't. He said, that's right. Right? I mean, you heard it, but you
really didn't assimilate what is to believe. And if you really
believe something, you act on it. Right? Do, hear, believe, do. True disciples. Hearers only. They hear only, but don't believe,
and therefore do not. The Lord makes this plain distinction. He says, therefore. Why did he
say therefore? Our pastor, my pastor, and your
assistant pastor here. He has always said that whenever
you see a therefore, see what it is there for. Therefore means
because of what I just said. Therefore. Therefore. Now, he just said, many will
say unto me, Lord, Lord. Not everyone that saith unto
me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, since not
everyone that saith that merely say it, Lord, Lord, I believe
in Jesus, he's Lord, Lord, Lord, will enter. Therefore, he said,
who will? Whosoever heareth these sayings
of mine and doeth them. That's the person who will enter,
and that's a person who is like someone who builds their house
on a rock. I like the word whosoever. Some
Calvinist over the years haven't. There was a time when I really,
to be honest with you, didn't like it, whosoever. But I do
now, knowing what I know now, I do. Whosoever. The Lord says
that. He doesn't call a particular
name, because that means whosoever. I mean the chief of sinners. I mean, thieves on the cross
as well as Pharisees like Solomon. Whosoever, male, female, black,
white, young, old, Jew, Gentile, whosoever, I'm glad that word
is there. Whosoever, hear it. Have you
heard? With the inner ear, that is.
and do it now. Now go over with me to James
chapter one very quickly. James one. We briefly mentioned
this a little while ago. James chapter one. The Lord Jesus
Christ said so many things, taught so many things. Scripture says
if the books were written with everything he said and did, then
the world couldn't, the world couldn't contain the book. Barbara,
that's not an exaggeration. That is not an exaggeration.
The world couldn't contain the book. He who is truth, everything
poured out of his mouth was revelation, was truth. And he said many things. Well, he tells apostles later
on to write letters to the churches in which they would expound more
upon what he said, OK? He said, he that doeth. under inspiration of the Spirit,
takes that and runs with it. James says a lot about it, doesn't
he? James 1, verses 22 and following, he says, James 1, 22, Be ye doers
of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own self. If any be a hearer of the word,
and not a doer, he's like a man beholding his natural face in
a glass. And this book is called A Glass,
A Mirror. It's talking about a mirror.
This book, God Almighty wrote this book to show us ourselves. Uh-huh. God wrote this book,
particularly the law, to reveal ourselves to us. When we take a good look, if
God gives us eyes to see ourselves in this, what do we see? Well,
what do you see when you look in the mirror at home? Especially
you approaching or over fifty, Margaret. What do you see? Do you see a young, beautiful,
we see young and beautiful, you yourself? When you look at yourself,
you take a good, honest look at yourself in the mirror, what
do you see? And the closer you look, what
do you see? I told you my wife bought me one of those magnifying
mirrors, you know. I wish she'd never bought that
for me. I was doing fine until I looked
in that. Oh, you don't see something beautiful and young. You see
spots and blemishes, don't you? You see ugly. You take a good, honest look
at yourself. That's what this Word, if God shows us ourselves
from this Word, this Word doesn't say anything good about man. Nothing. Zero. Not a zilch. Nothing. No prophet ever stood
up before people and said good things about them. None of them,
Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, none of them ever stood before a crowd
of people and said, you're all just wonderful folks and God
loves you so much and needs you so bad and you can do so much.
Never, ever, ever. Whoa, whoa, whoa, and so forth. It's a mirror. Well, somebody
that hears that, If God is merciful to a man,
to a woman, to a young person, that they see themselves in that
word, they hear the word, and the hearing and eyesight go together
here. They see themselves for what
they are. And then what does the word say to those who are
ungodly and sinful and unrighteous and guilty and so forth? What
does it say? Run to Christ. Don't run to, don't try to turn
over a new leaf. Don't try to fix yourself up.
Can't do it, can you? If you take a good honest look,
no amount of makeup can really improve you. You need change. You need to run. Do the work. Well, but he that looketh into
this looking-glass, beholdeth it himself, and goeth his way,
and straightway forgeteth what manner of man he was. And I could dwell there, but
I need to go on. Read on, verse, Whosoever looketh
into the perfect law of liberty, that's what Christ's law is,
law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in
his deed. Chapter 2, James 2, 17. Faith, if it hath not works,
is dead. Verse 19, you believe there's
one God, you do well. The devils believe and tremble.
Obey man. Faith without works is dead.
Abraham, our father, proved his faith. He goes on. So, and go
back to our text in Matthew. So the Lord says, Therefore,
whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, acts
upon them. What does it mean to do? And
here we go again. What does it mean to do his work? Well, Christ said in John 6,
it's to believe the one God sent. This is the work of God, that
you believe on him. It's for his glory, to do what
you do for his glory. I want you to turn to this, Matthew
21, Matthew chapter 21. The Word of God, the will of
God, the sayings of Christ, involves repentance. Are you with me? Doing involves
repentance. And Ed Berry knows this. The word repent means turn, be changed, change, turn about. And when it descriptors talks
about the Lord repentant of the evil means he turned from how
he's not a man and he repents meaning he's sorry for that didn't
mean it shouldn't have done it. Or not man can't and that's it
we do. When it says he repented me he
turned. He turned from that course of
action. And he intended and purpose do it all wrong to not do it
But it's a lesson for us, and he speaks in our language. Well,
repent means to be deterred. Matthew twenty-one, look at this. Verse twenty-eight, a certain
man, verse twenty-eight, what think ye? A certain man had two
sons. He came to the first. Now this
This is given an illustration or a parable here of two sons,
those that seem like two sons, and this applies to two who seem
to be sons of God. Two believers, they seem to be.
All right. All right, he said, what do you
think? He said a certain man had two sons. He came to the
first and said, son, go work today in my vineyard. He answered
and said, I will not. He rebelled. I don't want to.
I don't like to. I don't want to work in that
old vineyard. Rebellious son. I will not. I
will not have this man reign over me. I will not. I won't. Come worship God. I won't. I
won't. I will not. Wasn't that you? Every true believer? Didn't they say that? I will
not. Left to our free will, what will
we do? We won't do God's will. If left
to our free will, so to speak, what will we not do? We will
not do what he tells us to do. But thank God, thy people, God's
people, shall be willing. Psalm 110, verse 3. When? in the day of that power when
he makes him first women Philippians two thirteen is God which worked
in us both to real and to do of his good pleasure at this
time said I will not. Yes you will. Everyone in here,
every believer, true believer in here, once said, I will not.
I said that to my parents. I said that to God. I said that
to everything about religion. I will not have that old stuff. God said, yes, you will. And he stopped my wild career
and turned me around. Turn us, O Lord, and we'll be
turned. We'll not be turned unless he
turns us. turned a wild ass's coat, put a bit in his mouth,
a blanket on his back, and the Lord Jesus Christ got on his
back and rode him back to town and sat him in the church house.
You will, won't you? Yes, I will. Will you take this
now? Will you have this man? I sure
will. I'm sure glad you made me will. That's salvation. That's what
God does to all these people. That's the true sign. He says,
I will not. But it says, read on. Afterward,
he repented and went. He was changed. He was turned. What a fool I've been. Like the
prodigal son. It says when he came to himself,
That's what we're talking about. That's what James was talking
about. Beholding ourselves in the glass, if the Lord really
shows us ourselves. The prodigal son finally woke
up. Who woke him up? God did. That's what quickening means.
That means awakening. That's what it means. Wake up. See yourself, the prodigal. Look
at me. I'm in the holy pen. Eating husks! Oh, man, I wonder if Daddy had
me back. Why did I leave? I think I'll venture on his mercy
and grace. I think I'll go and see what
he said. That's the Lord. That's the Lord
doing. He repented and went back to
the Father. And verse 30 says, he came to
the second son and said, likewise, go. And he
answered and said, I go, sir. Oh, yes. I'd like to do your
will. Oh, yes, thou art my father.
I am your dutiful son. I've always been your wonderful
son. Look at me. I'm really the best son. Look
at that son. He's nothing. He's a worthless
son, isn't he? Yes, I go. And went not. Who's the son? Who did the will? That's what he said. Which of
them did the will of his father? They said, the first. And oh,
I love this. Read on. He said, Verily, truly,
I say unto you, publicans and hermits are going to go into
the kingdom of God. before you. Publicans and harlots,
they believed John when he preached and you when you had seen it.
Repent it not afterward that you might believe him. Who? Christ.
Didn't really trust Christ. They said they were waiting on
the Christ, said they believed the Christ, looked for the Christ,
loved the Christ, loved God. None of that was so. They said
it, but none of it was so. So doing his will is to repent. It involves that, turning, to
believe Christ as we say it, believe God, believe Christ.
It's to emulate Christ as we say it. That whoever you really
love and admire and esteem as wiser than you and greater than
you, you'll endeavor to be like them. And that's the way it is with
all of God's people. And our Lord said, whoever does
that, whosoever. I will liken him, in our text,
Matthew seven, I will liken him unto a wise man. Don't you want
to be wise? Oh, my. I do. Well, what is a wise man? Our Lord says a wise man is a
man which built his house upon a rock. A wise man, that is wise unto
salvation. The fear of the Lord is the beginning
of wisdom. Wisdom. Wise man. Built his house. What's the house here? The Lord's
talking about me. Myself. Everything about me.
My life, myself. A house is where you dwell in
it. A house is where you reside. It's your place of residence.
A house is your refuge. It's where you go. A house is
where you love to be and resort to and rest and eat and all that. It's life. Life. That's what
that is. Our life. Life. Men, women, young people
love life. What most people think of life
is sand. I played in the sand. Did you
ever have a sandbox when you were a child? I did. Along that line of a rebellious
son, my brother, my parents tell this story, my brother was in
his sandbox one day, and Dad just hollered at him, told him
to do something. He played in that sand and he
said, shut up, blabber mouth. And my dad heard that back when
his hearing was better than it is now. And he came and grabbed him by
the neck and said, what did you say? He said, this old blabbermouth
sand. I just said, shut up, sand. Boy,
that's getting out of it quick. Why did I say that? I don't know.
It just came to mind. The old blabbermouth sand, shut
up. Sand, anyway. We had a sandbox.
That's where I got that. We all had a sandbox. We played
in that sandbox. Thank goodness we didn't have
cats. But we played in the sand. I don't play in the sandbox anymore. When I became a man, I put away
childish things. You'll not find me out playing,
or will you? What's sand? It's anything that slides through
your fingers. Have you ever tried to grab hold
of sand? Get your hand full of sand. Try to keep it. If you go long enough, you grab
a handful of sand. Hold it as tight as you can,
all right? As tight as you can, and hold
it as long as you can. If you hold it, try to hold it
long enough, it'll all run through your fingers. That's the nature
of sand. Isn't it? What is sand? It's what? Everything and everyone
in it. It's true. It's true. Our life,
for many, life is sand. You know, and I'm not, you know,
people... I don't want to be hard or calloused
toward people's sufferings. I really don't. But for the grace
of God, we'd be right where everybody is. I just read Jonah, and the
Lord told Jonah, he said, why shouldn't I have pity on these
people that don't know the right hand from the left. Don't want
to go to destroy us. That's not good. Except for the
grace of God you'd be right there but the point I was going to
make was that these hurricanes who sends her. What is this. It's got the judgment of God
is it not. Very clear. Like the plagues
of Egypt were very clear to the Egyptians and the Israelites,
but not the Egyptians. They didn't have a clue why these
plagues were coming. The Israelites knew perfectly well. It's the
judgment of God. Romans 1 talks all about that,
doesn't it? Romans 1 says the wrath of God
is seen from heaven. The wrath of God is clearly seen
from heaven. The wrath of God is clearly seen. But they don't see it that way. the hurricane coming through
wiping out houses built on the sand. I'll admit, I go down there on
vacation and I see these and wow, don't
you? You're not human if you don't
wow. Look at that. Boy, I'd like to What would you give? Would you
give $5 for an oceanfront property right now? You'd be better off buying a
rock-tired bald knob. That old barren rocky place,
that's a worthless piece. Build your house on it. It's still there, isn't it? Well, how long am I being? I
can't preach short if I don't know when I started. Somebody
tell me. Okay, a wise man built his house,
his dwelling, his life on a rock. And not just any rock. To build, what does it mean to
build? Build means to believe. Believe, it means to trust. Build means to hope. You won't
really do something unless you believe in it. You won't really,
you know, invest in something unless you hope that it's going
to be okay. It means to cling to. Bill, it
means to cling to. Lay hold of. Lay hold of. Cast everything
upon. It means to commit to. All of our earthly goods and
money and everything were vested in this building over here that
we're building. Everything. We're committed.
We're committed. Totally committed. It's all love. That's what it means to build
upon, commit, total commitment. Total commitment. That's what it meant. Invest
everything. That's what it means to build. To build. Now. Amber, we need to know this.
Except the Lord build the house. Scripture says they labor in
vain that build it. Except God do this work. You
can't build it. You can't build it. You can't
do anything. We can't do anything. But it also says, ye building
up yourselves on this most holy faith. But which is it? It's both. It's both. Except the Lord begin the work
and finishes. Author and finisher. Architect
and builder. Do this work. You won't do it. Can't do it. But all who he begins
this work will build themselves on this rock. You with me? I'm
losing some of you. All right, it says, those who
build themselves, they build upon the rock. Christ Jesus says,
verse 25, the rain descended, the floods came, the winds blew,
and beat upon that house, and beat upon that house, and beat
upon that house, and beat upon that house. I want to get your
attention here. And the rains came, they're coming. Everyone
that professes faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is going to be...
Beat doesn't say pit or patter. It says beat. You ever been in
a beating rain? I've been through a hurricane
now. I have been through a hurricane. I thought I knew rain. I thought
we'd had rain here. No, sir. I thought I'd felt wind. No, sir. Virginia has never seen
wind before. I was in Tampa, Florida when
the hurricane of last year came through 140 mile an hour wind.
That's wind. You can't stand in it. No way. No way. Beat, beat the opponent,
said that the floods came. Floods, what's a flood? I've
had a little water in my basement. That ain't a flood. People in
New Orleans now know what a flood is. Everything's lost. Everything's
lost. Everything's under water. You're
drowned in a flood. That means it doesn't stop. Sustained winds. We've felt gusts
of wind. We had gusts of wind the 50 miles
an hour. Sustained winds? No. Sustained winds are winds
of blue and beat, and beat, and beat, and beat. Well, here stands
a house and a ranch coming down. And everybody that professes
faith in Christ, God will try them. Where do these trials come
from? trial of your faith comes down
from above. God's people know where it comes
from. And the floods of sin. That's trials from this earth.
Floods that rise up. I'm going under. Sin and the
world and everything and the cares and the troubles and things
of this world. Lord, I'm going under. And the winds blow. You don't
know where these trials come from. Depression, anxiety, stress,
fear. They just come on you unaware,
don't they? What's wrong with me? It comes.
But this house stood. Beat, and beat, and beat, and
beat, and beat. Joe, after one trial came another
trial came. Worse than the first, and another,
and another, and another, and another, and another, and another. Beat
on him, and beat on him, and God beat on him, and the world
beat on him, and everything beating on him. He's standing. How? I got my little lifeline out
here. I got my... Why? How is this man enduring? How? The root of the matter is
in it. He's standing on rock. He's built. His life, his life. Christ is my life. We'll see.
We will see. We'll see. I love the Lord. We'll see. If
you love the Lord more than this person or that person or this
thing or that, we'll see. Trials will come. Trials don't
have to be in the form either of terrible calamities. It can
be a person. Some young person says they love
Christ and some handsome young man or beautiful young girl comes
along and they just forget him altogether and go after that
person and never come back. They didn't know that you'll
be found out one way or another. The Lord knows how to what's. Rising water. But this house, they all know
it. They all know why it's founded
upon the rock. Let me tell you a few things
about Iraq. A few things about Iraq and and
Paul said. He said, we're troubled on every
side. Believers are beset behind the board from above and below
and so forth, with trial troubled on every side, but he said, but
not distressed. They were perplexed, but not
in despair. He said, we're persecuted. but not forsaken, cast down, but not destroyed, will rise
again. Why? Because the foundation of
God standeth sure. Christ the rock. Let me tell
you a few things about the rock and how this applies to the Lord
Jesus Christ. The Lord is my rock and fortress.
Those who truly rest in Christ, he is our rock. He is our rock.
Now, Stan, you and I know The religion out there, their rock
is not like our rock. Their rock rolls, moves, might be there, might
not, and so forth. Their rock's not like our rock. See, our rock is an immovable
thing. And what the world hates about
God, about the truth, That is, it's unchanging, that God's will
has been purposed before the world began, His covenant, His
foundation of God's standard, known unto God all His works
from the beginning. God has written a Lamb's Book of Life before
the foundation of the world, the Book of Life, everything
predestined, predetermined. What the world hates absolutely
gives me joy, absolutely is my peace. What the world hates,
I'm resting right there. I'm just resting, totally, completely. resting in one. God's will, God's
purpose, God's covenant, God's predestinated power. Come what may, we see, you see,
people are finite in their understanding. They're temporal in their understanding.
They see the now. They see the now. Look at that.
How could this be good? Well, just wait. Let's just wait. That's what it means to wait
on the Lord. You can't believe in God now, can you, Job? You
can't believe this is God doing that now. God didn't want that
to happen to you, Job. You see, let's just wait. Wait till you see now. Look with
eyes of faith. And in the end, how did it end
up with Job? Huh? How did it end up with Job? Better
than it started. He got everything back he lost
and more. Yes, God did it. Did it all. And all things work together
for good to them that love God. according to his purpose. You
see, he purposed it all before them. He's all-wise and sovereign,
omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent. He purposed it all. What would
he be like? Where would my hope be if he
didn't purpose it? If everything's running according
to chance and luck and it might happen, oh, let's go to a cave
somewhere. Well, that's where we've gone,
isn't it? A cave. Hewn out of the rock. That's where we're
resting. God said, come hell or high water,
if you're in Christ the Rock, it's not going to come nigh you. Whether we go or whether we stay,
it's all right. Isn't that so? We lose this,
we lose that, we gain this, we gain that. It's okay. Because the end is good. It's an immovable thing. A rock
is an immovable thing. I don't mean, you know, I mean
a rock, a mountain. A mountain. Talk about an old
bald mob up there. It's still there. It'll still
be there when every oceanfront property is gone. It'll still
be there. Ugly. Bald. Beauty is in the eyes of the
dog. Beauty in it is salvation. It's
a high place, a high place. The Lord Jesus Christ, immovable. He's seated at the right hand
of God. He's seated. He's not worried about anything.
When you're sitting down, are you worried? Have you ever been worried about
anything and just sat there? No, you paced the floor. Roberta
laughs at me before every Bible study. Why? I'm nervous. I'm worried.
I don't know how it's going to turn out. I never ceded. Christ ceded. Scripture says expect Him. He's
expecting His enemies to be made His footstool and His people
to be brought by His Spirit. Not worried. Seated, immovable. It's a high place, Rock. It's
a high place. The highest mountains, if you
go out to the Colorado, to the Rocky Mountains, if you go up
to the highest mountain, what do you find? Rock. That's it. Nothing grows there
but rock. The highest mountain. Christ, you go as high as you
will. Let's go up to some high fellow
here on earth. Let's go up to the President of the United States.
That's the highest office on earth. He wishes he wasn't in it. A king. What about a king? That'd
be come down. George Bush is going to be out
of office. A king. Doesn't matter who it is. He
comes down. Keep going. How high can he get? Oh, the
throne of God. Who sits there? Jesus Christ. Who's going to put him down?
That's what we read. They labor in vain to cast him
down from his excellence. We will not have this man rank.
Oh, you won't be. Doesn't matter if he does. It's
a high place. That's who I want
to resort to. Don't you want to resort to the
highest office? If you're guilty, wouldn't you
want to go to the Supreme Court if you knew? Somebody who had some say. The
woman was brought to Christ, caught in adultery. Thank God
she was brought to the highest court in the land. To the supreme
judge. And he said, I say unto you,
sin is God. Who can forgive sins but God?
That's right. High, high place. High, strong. Place of defense, an impregnable
fortress. Christ is the ribbon rock, the
cliff rock, where we find safe shelter, the eminent place. The best views are found in the
highest places, the best views. I was going to have you tired,
but I don't have time. Ephesians 1 says, God hath made known the
mystery of his will to us. What is it? Gather together in one, all things. Christ, yeah, one. We see it
all, don't we, John? We see it all. By faith in Christ.
Go up to that mountain, 360 degrees, all the way around. You see,
it's all about Christ, isn't it? Why? It's all about Him. It's durable, it's permanent,
it's lasting, it rocks. It stays the same. Stays the
same. So no, it doesn't break your
water and stuff. We were, I was with somebody
in, I think it was West Virginia. And you drive down the road past
this rock formation. Huge rock formation sticking,
jutting out of the mountains there. It's the strangest thing,
one of the strangest things you've ever seen. Just rocks, just really
strange, sticking straight out. And this person said, I wonder
what happened to make that like that. I said God created it that way.
That's exactly the way he created it. And dumb man who's a dumb
monkey sits around scratching his head. What could have happened?
God did it. That's how it got that way. And so they say, well, it couldn't
have happened that way. It took a zillion years. A zillion
years of water to finally water it. What an idiot. And that's
what God does to make fools out of men. He just creates a rock
so they sit around, huh. Must be zillion years. God did
it. A rock is an unchangeable thing.
They say, well, this happened. Who was back there? Who took
pictures of it when it started? Now, Sherry, this rock was changed
by water over here. Who took a picture of it? How
do you know? Christ is unchanging, unchanging,
lasting, permanent. Same yesterday, today, I say
Jesus changed in the New Testament. It's different. No sir. That's
where they got it all wrong. He's the same. There's safety
in things that don't change. You know it? My father was a
rock to me. He was always pretty much the
same way when it came to it. Always. Dependable. Christ is the same. Same rock, same rock man. Their rock is our rock. Israel's rock is my rock. David's rock is my rock. Same person, same person. Pure
water comes from a rock. I lied, didn't I? That's 45 minutes
right now. Pure water comes from a rock.
Comes from a rock. Scripture says all our springs
are in here. Slit and rock. Children of Israel got it from
a slit and rock. Christ crucified. That's where real water comes
from. Sweet, refreshing water. And lastly, there's nothing quite as cool
and restful as a shady and temperature constant in a cave, in a rock. No matter how hot the sun is,
find you a nice cave and be cool. God told old Moses, didn't He?
He said, I'm coming through. Our God is a consuming fire.
He said, I'm coming through. But I'm going to put you. Who's going to put who? God said,
I'm going to put you in the cleft of the rock. You're just going
to see my back part. No man can see me. But I'm going
to put you in a rock. Oh my, he saw the Lord. Well,
it says those who built their houses on the sand, their house
on the sand, rains came, floods came, winds blew, beat upon the
house and it fell. And it was terrible. Great was
the fall of it. And when it ended, he said, the
people were astonished at his doctrine. And I'm astonished, aren't you?
I just, I just, I'm at a loss for words
right now. The Lord's Word, His teaching,
it's just amazing. It amazes me. He is wisdom in
that. They said that he teaches one
having authority. Well I know by the grace of God
he is all of that. Everything he says is the word
of God. It's not an option. It's not
good advice. It's not good counsel. It's the
only way there is. Not like the scribes. Not like the scribes. Rock of
Ages. What number is that? 126. Sing a couple of verses. uh... uh... I don't know. I don't know. experiences. The process of self-development
