Assurance of salvation is fundamentally important for the Christian because it forms the basis for their peace and confidence in their identity in Christ. This assurance is vital; it allows believers to rest in the finished work of Christ and encourages them to persevere in faith, knowing that they are secure in their standing before a holy God.
Additionally, assurance fosters spiritual growth and empowers believers to engage in the ministry of reconciliation as ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). When Christians are confident in their salvation, they are better equipped to share the gospel and live out their faith boldly.
