Why is Christ's resurrection important for Christians?

Answered in 108 sources

Christ's resurrection is foundational for the Christian faith as it confirms His victory over sin and death, providing believers with the assurance of eternal life.

The resurrection of Christ is central to the Gospel and is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. As stated in 1 Corinthians 15:17, if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. His resurrection validates His claims to be the Son of God and assures us that death has been conquered. In Acts 1:3, it's noted that Jesus presented Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, reinforcing the certainty of our faith. Furthermore, through His resurrection, Christians are promised a future resurrection; just as Christ was raised, those who are in Him will also be raised to eternal life, granting hope and security regarding their salvation.
