Let God arise. Let his enemies
be scattered. Let them also that hate him flee
before him. As smoke is driven away, so drive
them away. As wax melteth before the fire,
so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the
righteous be glad. Let them rejoice before God.
Yea, let them exceedingly rejoice. Singing unto God, sing praises
to his name. Extol him that writeth upon the
heavens by his name, Yah, and rejoice before him. A father
of the fatherless and a judge of the widows is God in his holy
habitation. God setteth the solitary in families. He bringeth out those which are
bound with chains. But the rebellious dwell in a
dry land. O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when
thou didst march through the wilderness, The earth shook. The heavens also dropped at the
presence of God. Even Sinai itself was moved at
the presence of God, the God of Israel. Thou, O God, didst
send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thy
inheritance when it was weary. Thy congregation hath dwelt therein.
Thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. The
Lord gave the word, great was the company of those that published
it. Kings of armies did flee apace, and she that tarried at
home divided the spool. Though you have lean among the
pots, yet shall you be as the wings of a dove covered with
silver and her feathers with yellow gold. When the Almighty
scattereth kings in it, it was white as snow and salmon. The
hill of God is as the hill of Bashan, and high hill as the
hill of Bashan. Why leap ye ye high hills? This
is the hill which God desireth to dwell in. Yea, the Lord will
dwell in it forever. The chariots of God are 20,000,
even thousands of angels. The Lord is among them as in
Sinai, in the holy place. Thou hast ascended on high. Thou
hast led captivity captive. Thou hast received gifts for
men, yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might
dwell among them. Blessed be the Lord who daily
loatheth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. He that is our God is the God
of salvation, and unto God the Lord belong the issues from death. But God shall wound the head
of his enemies, The hairy scalp of such an one as goeth on still
in his trespasses. The Lord said, I will bring again
from Bashan, I will bring my people again from the depths
of the sea, that thy foot may be dipped in the blood of thine
enemies, and the tongue of thy dogs in the same. They have seen
thy goings, O God, even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary. The singers went before the players
on instruments, followed after. Among them were the damsels playing
with timbrels. Bless ye God in the congregation,
even the Lord, from the fountain of Israel. There is little Benjamin
with their ruler, the princes of Judah and their council, the
princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali. Thy God hath commanded
thy strength. Strengthen, O God, that which
thou hast wrought for us. Because of thy temple at Jerusalem
shall kings bring presents unto thee. Rebuke the company of spearmen,
the multitude of the bulls, With the calves of the people, till
every one submit himself with pieces of silver, scatter thou
the people that delight in war. Princes shall come out of Egypt,
Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God. Sing unto
God, ye kingdoms of the earth, O sing praises unto the Lord.
To him that rideth upon the heavens of heavens, which were of old,
lo, he doth send out his voice, and that a mighty voice. Ascribe
you strength unto God. His excellency is over Israel
and his strength is in the clouds. O God, thou art terrible out
of thy holy places. The God of Israel is he that
giveth strength and power unto his people. Blessed be God. Let's pray together. Our gracious God and Father,
what a privilege and blessing it is to call you our God and
to know that you are the God of salvation. Bless us as we
look into your word tonight. Bless your people, Lord, and
if there's someone here who doesn't know you, reveal yourself to
them in their hearts and cause them to believe on Christ. Bless
us, Lord, as we look and comfort your people. May Christ be exalted
in all in his precious name, amen. Now, you know from our
previous studies that it would be impossible to preach from
every verse of this psalm in one evening, and even one or
two or three messages wouldn't be enough. So I thought this
time, rather than take several weeks to go through this psalm,
I would just preach on what I see as the pivotal verse of this
psalm. And what I mean by that is this,
I believe that this verse says concisely what the whole rest
of the psalm is saying. When David speaks in this psalm
of God's power to overcome the enemies of his people, you heard
that as I read. He prays for it in verses one
and two. Oh Lord, do it. Did you see that? Let God arise,
let his enemies be scattered. Verse two, as the smoke is driven
away, so drive them away, Lord, as wax melteth before the fire,
so let the wicked perish. So he's praying for it there,
and then he praises God for having done so in verse 12. Kings of
armies did flee apace, and she that tarried at home divided
the spool. And he also talks about how God will vanquish their
enemies, past, present, and future. In verse 21 he said, but God
shall wound the head of his enemies. And so he praises God in all
of that. And then when he speaks of the
goodness of God toward his people, verse 10, Thy congregation hath
dwelt, Lord, therein. Thou, O God, hast prepared of
thy goodness for the poor. I believe that all that is said
about all of that can be summed up by verse 20. And think of
this in spiritual terms now. He that is our God is the God
of salvation. And unto God the Lord belong
the issues from death. This is an all-encompassing,
a very weighty declaration of who God is. He's our God, first
of all. Our God. Now, we claim this as
a blessing of the eternal covenant of His grace in Christ. We know
that this is true because of that covenant. Christ Himself
is the surety and the messenger of that covenant. And so we know,
as David did, that it is ordered in all things and sure. God put
help upon one that is mighty. And the Lord Jesus Christ has
been victorious in securing all of the benefits of that covenant
for his people. Christ's precious sin-atoning
blood is the blood of the everlasting covenant, Hebrews 13 20. Meaning
this, that because he shed his powerful soul-redeeming blood
for me, all of the blessings of that covenant are assured
unto me. their mind just as surely as his blood is sufficient to
pay for my sin. And in that covenant of God's
grace, which Christ, my representative, my surety, my mediator fulfilled
in all of its terms to my eternal benefit, God promised among other
things in Hebrews 8.10, for this is the covenant that I will make
with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord, I
will put my laws into their mind and write them in their hearts
and I will be to them a God. And they shall be to me a people. Our God, David said, is the God,
our God, he's my God. I can't convey to you what that
means unless you feel in your heart the blessing that it is
to say God is my God. to own him as your God. And the reason that I'm able
to say that God is my God is because that he said of me before
I was ever born, he's mine. I can say he's mine because he
said he's mine. Chris is my son. Chris have I
loved. And now I say, God is my father. Do you love me, Chris? Lord,
you know all things, you know that I do. Not like I should,
not like I would, not like I will, but I love you. And now, having
all of this revealed to me in his glorious gospel of his glorious
son and all of his saving love for me and his power to save
me, I do say with all of my heart, he is my God, my God. As Thomas, I say to the one with
the nail prints in his hand, My Lord and my God, spit on by
this world, beaten, mocked, and laughed at while he died as we
hung him on a cross. But he's my God, my God. That thief knew who he was. And
David said, secondly, this, he is our God, is the God of salvation. Who is your God? That's the question. Who's your God? Our God is the
God that saves. There's only one God who saves
now. If your God is the God of salvation, then he must have
the authority, he must have the power to save. He must be able.
Daniel, is your God able to deliver you from the mouths of the lions?
And that's a question you have to ask yourself. Is your God
able? This same David, who claims this God as his God, said of
him in Psalm 115.3, Our God is in the heavens. He hath done
whatsoever he hath pleased. If he wants to save me, that's
what he'll do. If he wants to damn me, that's what he'll do.
He done whatever he wanted to do. He always has, and he always
will. Isaiah said of him in Isaiah
59.1, Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened that it can't
save. If he wants to save you, who's going to stop him? Job
said of him, I know that you can do everything now, I know
that now. And I know this, that when you think something, nobody
can hinder it. Every thought of yours is free,
and you're free to accomplish every desire of your heart without
hindrance. Paul said of him in Hebrews 7.25,
wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come
unto God by him. He's able to save them. seeing
that he ever liveth to make intercession for him. He's able to save to
the uttermost. He himself said in John 637,
all that the father giveth me shall come to me and him that
cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from
heaven not to do mine own will but the will of him that sent
me. I came down here to accomplish something and it's the will of
my father. He sent me on a task. I came
down here to do it and this is the will of my father which hath
sent me, this is what he sent me to do, that of all which he
hath given me, all those in that covenant, that covenant wherein
we claim his promise, I'll be your God, and you'll be my people.
According to the terms of that covenant, he's my God, and he's
the God of salvation, that of all which he hath given me in
that covenant, Christ said, I should lose nothing, but should raise
it up again at the last day. He's redeemed us body and soul.
And when this soul leaves this body, it's going to be with him.
And when he gets good and ready, the trumpet's gonna blow and
he's gonna take my body up to be with him. So shall we ever
be with the Lord. Work for comfort one another
with these words. He said in John chapter 10, I
lay down my life for my sheep. Now look, we don't have time
tonight to read John chapter 10, but you jot that down, you
read it when you get home, and you see if I misspoke here. This
is what he says in John chapter 10, among other things. He said,
I lay down my life for my sheep, therefore doth my father love
me. Because I lay down my life for my sheep, and I take it up
again. And because I lay down my life
for my sheep, they will never perish. I give unto them eternal
life. It's mine to give. By virtue
of that shed blood, it's mine to give. And I give it to them
and they shall never perish. They're in my hand and nobody
can take them out. That's what we're talking about.
He is the God of salvation. Is your God able to save? Also,
there's a second thing now. If your God is the God of salvation,
then he's got to be willing to save. And let me put it this
way. He got to be willing to save
you. And we're talking about your God. We're not talking about
a God or some God, somebody's God, everybody's got a God. We're
talking about your God. If your God is the God of salvation,
then he got to be willing to save you. Now we know even from the scriptures
that we already read that he's willing to save sinners. Indeed,
he came to this earth to do that very thing, but will he save
you? Here's what I know. Somebody asked me one time, I
was sitting at lunch with a friend of mine, and as often was the
case, we were talking about scriptural things, and he knew what I believed,
and I knew what he believed. And he asked me, he pointed out
a guy across the restaurant, he said, can God save that? He
said, if that fellow right there asked you, will God save me,
what would you say to him? Here's what I'd say to him, here's
what I know. Every time a sinner came to the Lord Jesus Christ
for mercy in the word of God, this is God's book now. Not my doctrine, this is God's
book. And every time a sinner came
to the Lord Jesus Christ for mercy, he said, I will, every
time. The leper said, Lord, if you
will, you can make me clean. He said, I will, be thou clean.
The centurion said, Lord, my servant lies at home, sick of
the palsy, grievously tormented. The master said, I will come
and heal him, I will. Have you asked him to save you? Then I say with Paul, he said,
you come to me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, all
of you, any of you, whosoever is laboring and heavy laden under
the bondage of the law, under the burden of what it is to stand
before God in your sin and try to please God in yourself if
you're tired, if you're weary of that, trying to please God
on your own. If the burden of your sin is
too great for you, lay it down at my feet. Come to me and I
will. I will. There it is. Everybody.
I will. That's what he says to all sinners.
I will give you rest. I will. I will make you clean. Have you asked him to save you?
James said you don't have because you don't ask. If there's something
you need from God, anything you need, if any man lack wisdom,
let him ask God. If there's something that you
need from God and you don't have it, you know why you don't have
it? You haven't asked him for it. That's what this book says now.
Maybe you're asking the wrong God. Maybe you're asking just because you want to go to
heaven when you die and you don't really care anything about him. Maybe you're asking from a natural
heart that just wants something from God and not a God-given
heart of faith that desires to please God and knows that the
only way that you can is through Christ. Maybe you haven't asked at all.
Maybe you don't care enough to ask. Have you asked him to save you?
If so, I say, here's my, I say with Paul of you, we're bound
to give thanks always to God for you. Brethren, beloved of
the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you. You
know how I know? Because he does it through sanctification
of the spirit and belief of the truth. Do you believe on Christ? Do you believe on him? Ask him
to save you. If you believe on Him, then He
chose you from the foundation of the world. Let me say this. Have you come
to Christ? If you have, I know why you did.
We just read it a while ago. He said, all that the Father
giveth me shall come to me. That's why you came to Him, because
the Father gave you to Christ in the eternal covenant of grace
before you was ever born. So if you have come to the Lord
Jesus Christ, I know why. And I'll tell you this, if you
do come to him, I know what'll happen. He said, him that cometh to me,
I will in no wise cast out. Will God save you? You come to
him, he will. Do you believe on him? Do you trust him? Now the God
of mainstream organized religion is willing to save. I'd say that,
wouldn't you? They're always saying Jesus wants
to save you. But he can't do it. He can't save. You just listen
to him for a little while. What he can do and what that
little G God, that non-existent idol of a God, has done is make
salvation available to you. And if you're a real sinner,
then you know how worthless that is. But I even know some that are
completely the other way, and are so twisted as to have a knowledge
of God's ability to save, of his sovereign power to save,
but they greatly limit his willingness. In so much that if you don't
know enough, or more specifically, if you don't know the things
that they know, their God will damn you as a heretic. And the
way that they present him, he's just looking for a reason to
do that. You just slip up and say the wrong thing and you're
consigned to hell. Under their strict doctrinal requirements
for salvation, the blind man in John chapter 9 is in hell
tonight. And I'm sure to go there too
because I don't even know what they're talking about, much less
believe in it. These ones who are always arguing about doctrine.
I've looked at some of their Some of the stuff that they're
going back and forth about and then heard some of it, I don't
even know what they're talking about. I've been studying the
Bible for 30 some odd years now and don't have any idea what
they're talking about, much less believe any of it. So I'm in
hell with that blind man if their God is God. And don't get it backwards now,
you who know so much. God doesn't save you because
you know something. If you know anything, it's because
God saved you. Let's not get it backwards. And
when the God of salvation saves you, do you know what you'll
know? Paul said, I determined to know nothing among you save
Jesus Christ and him crucified. If Christ is not all your doctrine,
all your hope, all your salvation, then you don't know anything.
You just think you do. I'm thankful that my God, who
is the God of salvation, is willing and able to save the chief of
sinners. Even the rebellious, our text
said. Isn't that what it said? Even the rebellious. He didn't
come to call the righteous. It's the rebels that he came
to save. And when he saves them, he graciously and patiently teaches
them the plain truth concerning himself. And after he saves them,
he gives them more and more light gradually and with great longsuffering. Aren't you glad that he's longsuffering
with us? Because I don't know much. He's
given me some light and I thank God for it. And I desire more. But our Lord is longsuffering
in that. I'm thankful. Well you can sign me to hell
because I'm not as smart as you are. My Savior never did that. My God never did that and my
God is the God of salvation. Now we know that he's able to
save and that he's willing to save. Our God is. Did he save? What did he do to save us? Look
at verse 18. Thou hast ascended on high. Thou hast led captivity captive.
Thou hast received gifts for men, yea, for the rebellious
also. There's me. I'm glad he had a
gift for me. Some gifts from the Father for
me that the Lord God might dwell among them. And he's going to
dwell among us now. and us with him. Something got
to be done for us, doesn't it? And he did it. Now listen to
this. Thou hast ascended on high. You
know what Paul said about that? Let me read it to you in Ephesians
four, verse seven. But unto every one of us is given
grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore
he saith, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive,
and gave gifts unto men. Now the Apostle Paul in Ephesians
chapter 4 is fixing to expound upon the verse that we're looking
at as our key verse in Psalm 68. You know what he said about
that? In verse 9 of Ephesians 4 he said this, now that he ascended,
what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of
the earth? He that descended is the same
also that ascended up far above all heavens that he might fill
all things. So I think we can reasonably conclude what Paul
did. If our Lord ascended, it means first he came down here. So Paul, as he pointed out, you
can't consider the ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ without
acknowledging that he first descended. Even as a man, he humbled himself
and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
He descended into the lower parts of the earth, even into the grave
for his people. He left the throne of his glory
and came down here where we were, and he told us why he did it.
We don't have to speculate about that now. He said in Matthew
20, 28, even as the son of man came not to be ministered unto,
but to minister and to give his life a ransom for many. Paul said he descended before
he ascended. Why did he descend? Why did he
come down here to this earth? He said he came to minister and
to give his life a ransom for a whole bunch of people. That pretty much covers it, wouldn't
you say? The word minister there, he said, I came down to minister.
What does that mean? It means to be a servant, to
serve. And here's the key, I believe,
part of the definition that we need to think about. To serve
another's interests. That's what a servant does. If
he works for me, he's not serving his own interests, he's working
For me, he's doing what I want him to do. He's serving my interests.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, that's what I came down here to do,
to serve somebody else's interests. He came to serve his father's
interests in that God cannot save his people without a ransom.
God has determined from eternity to save a people. He said, I
will have mercy. He can't do that unless Christ
descends. I say soberly that God can't
do something now, but you know, there's no, without the shedding
of blood, there's no remission of sins. And God has determined
from eternity to put my sins away, to save me, to have me. That's that eternal covenant
again, gonna be with him forever. And so he came to serve his father's
interests in that. The father said, I love that
one, and I'm gonna save him. And Christ said, well, I'll go do what's necessary.
The Lord Jesus Christ agreed to do what it took for God to
be able to save me. If God's gonna be just and justify
me, that he got to live for me, he got to die for me. And so
he served the father's interests in that. He said, my father loves
me because I lay down my life for my sheep. He came to serve
his father's interests in that God's law will never be honored
if Christ doesn't do it. And it will be honored. I'm not
talking about the Ten Commandments. I'm talking about all of the
will of the Almighty God must and shall be honored, but not
by you and me. He came down here to serve his
father's interests in that. He's going to accomplish all
of the will of his father. He's going to fulfill and honor
the law in every jot and tittle. I came not down here to do mine
own will, but the will of him that sent me. And he did it. He came to serve his father's
interests in that he glorified his father in all of his life
and in all of his death. As he was going to die, he said,
Father, the hour has come. Glorify thou me so that I might
glorify thee. That's the end. That's the end
goal right there. Glorify me so that this can be
accomplished. All glory to the father. That
was His will. And we know that God the Father
does everything for His own glory. So our Lord Jesus served the
Father's interests in that. He came to serve my interests.
He served the interests of His people in this, 1 Peter 3.18,
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust,
in the interest of the unjust. in the stead of the unjudged,
that he might bring us to God." That's to my benefit, wouldn't
you say? I'd say that's in my best interest, wouldn't you?
Me who has been alienated from God from the very womb, the Lord
Jesus Christ is going to bring me to God back into fellowship
and communion in the favor and blessing of God? He served my
interest in that. And he did it, that he might
bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened
by the Spirit. He came down here and descended
into the lower parts of the earth, became obedient unto death, even
the death of the cross, that he might bring me to God, that
he might ransom my soul. He served our interests, his
people's interests, in that he, Christ, hath redeemed us from
the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. For it is written,
cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree. He served our interests
and the Father's interests by giving willingly, giving his
life a ransom, a payment. The price of a slave, the price
of freedom. By his holy perfect life and
by laying down that life that he might take it again, my God,
The God of salvation honored his father perfectly and ransomed
my immortal soul eternally. And then having descended in
order to accomplish that and having accomplished it, he ascended
to the throne of heaven. And when he did, he led captivity
captive. What does that mean? What does
that mean? It means he was successful. First
of all, he did what he came to do. It means that he vanquished
my every enemy. Everything that held me in chains
and everybody is vanquished and themselves put in chains, bound
and helpless to harm me, physical and spiritual. All that held
me prisoner, all that rendered me guilty and condemned is condemned
by him and rendered helpless to do me any harm. Listen to
this verse Romans 8 3 for what the law could not do in that
it was weak through the flesh. The law couldn't justify me.
The law could not forgive me because it's the justice of God. The law can't can't render me
guiltless. It can't justify me. Why? Because of my flesh. My flesh
is weak. I can't keep the law. I can't measure up to the glory
of the law. What the law could not do in that it was weak through
my flesh, God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful
flesh and for sin, he came as me, my representative, and condemned
sin in the flesh. Sin condemned me and Christ condemned
sin. That's leading captivity captive
right there. And he did so, how did Christ condemn sin in his
flesh, in the flesh, as a man, as my high priest? It behooved
him to be made like unto his brethren. Being made like me,
he condemned sin in the flesh. How did he do that? By not committing
any of it. And by paying for mine. Condemned it. Condemned it. That which condemned
me, and I'm free. There is therefore now no condemnation. That's how that chapter starts.
To them which are in Christ Jesus. Walk not after the flesh, but
after the spirit. And that's when that verse comes
in for what the law could not do. And it says in our text he received
gifts for us. gifts. What gifts? Every good
and perfect gift. Every blessing that God has for
sinners. Every spiritual blessing in the
heavenlies is mine in Christ. And Paul includes in Ephesians
4, where we read a while ago, he includes even pastors and
teachers in that. My pastor in Texas, Jack Shank,
he was a gift from heaven. Obtained by Christ himself earned
by him for me for the blessing of my soul He gave gifts that
Paul quoted this he gave gifts unto men and he gave some pastors
and one of them was mine He gave him to me What other gifts did
he receive for me? We quoted James 1 17 every good
and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the
father of lights. I With whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning. You know why they come down to
me? Because of Christ, in Christ and because of him. Paul said
in Ephesians 2.8 that faith is God's gift. Do you have faith? Do you know why? You know where
you got it? Christ bought it for you and gave it to you as
a gift. He bought it with his precious blood. He is himself the ultimate fulfillment
of this prophecy in our text. In 2 Corinthians 9.15, Paul said,
thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. That's Christ himself.
And because of what he did for me, because he descended and
ascended, and as Paul tells us in Hebrews, when he ascended,
he entered into that holy place not made with hands. Not with
the blood of bulls and of calves and goats, but with his own precious
blood. And he received gifts from me
because of Christ and all that he is to me and all that he is
for me and all that he has done for me. We say what David did
at the end of verse 20, unto him it belongs. Deliverance from death, that's
what the issues from death, it means to exit out of, to be delivered
from. Deliverance from death belongs
to him. Now that's the way we preach
too. It's his to give now. He that liveth and believeth
in me shall never die, never die. Salvation is of the Lord. He said I give life to whomsoever
I will That's the Savior we talking about He said in Revelation 1 17 listen
to this John said when I saw him I Fell at his feet as dead
And he laid his right hand upon me I like that don't you I Think of the spiritual picture
there. Here's John, he sees the Lord Jesus Christ in a sense
of his unworthiness, being in his flesh and being unworthy
and having great reverence for, to see the glory of God shining
in the face of his son. He falls at his feet like a dead
man. Just completely falls. Powerless. And the Lord Jesus Christ lays
his right hand upon him. You know what the right hand
is? Power. This is what happened to me.
I'm a dead sinner before him. When God saved me, what happened?
I fell at his feet as dead. And surely I am dead. The wages
of sin is death and I'm full of sin. And I fall at his feet
as dead, but he lays his right hand upon me with his power.
You know what he says to me? Don't be afraid. You got nothing
to be afraid of. I am the first and the last. I
am he that liveth and was dead. And behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. Now the one that liveth
and was dead. The one, the only one in a sense
who ever rose from the dead because we do in him. We do because of
him. He's the first fruits, the first
born of the dead. Only one can really say, I'm
he that liveth and was dead. If I can say that, it's because
he said that. Now that's who he is. I'm the
one who lives and yet I died for you. But I'm alive forevermore
now. And listen to this. I'm the first
and the last. I'm the beginning and the end.
I'm all and in all. I'm alive and I died for you
and now I'm living forever for you. And I have the keys. Now if this one says fear not,
you got nothing to fear. The keys of hell and of death
are in his hand. And he said, I'm the beginning
and the end. I'm alive and was dead and live forevermore. The
keys are in my hand and I'm saying to you, my right hand of power
is upon you and you got nothing to be scared of. Can you rest
there? If you can't rest there, you're
not ever gonna know what rest is. Oh, thank God. The power, the authority, the
one with all authority, all power is given unto me in heaven and
earth that I may give eternal life to as many as thou hast
given me. The keys of death are in his hand and life is his to
give. And he says, he lays his right hand of power on me and
says, don't be afraid. Has he ever done that to you?
Has the one with the keys in his hand ever laid his right
hand on you and said, fear not? Thank God, he descended for us. He was dead, but he ascended. He's alive forevermore. And he
received every blessing that God has. And he did it for me. He did it for you if you're his.
When I lay down my head tonight on my pillow, I think I'll be thinking what
David said in Psalm 4. I will both lay me down in peace
and sleep, for thou, Lord, only, makest me to dwell in safety.
The one who is alive forevermore and was dead, who came and gave
his life a ransom for my soul, and has the keys of hell and
death in his hand, He's the beginning and the end and everything in
between. He's all and in all. And He says, fear not. I will
both lay me down in peace and sleep. His right hand is on me. And I can rest there by His grace. Thank God. Let's pray.
