What does the Bible say about being a Christian?

Answered in 3 sources

The Bible describes Christians as new creatures in Christ, reconciled to God and called to live according to His promises.

The New Testament provides a clear depiction of what it means to be a Christian. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it states that 'if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.' A Christian is someone who has been transformed by the grace of God, recognizing their sinfulness and fleeing to Christ for salvation. This transformation yields a life that is characterized by faith, obedience, and a deepening relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). The believer is no longer a servant, but a child of God, enjoying peace and communion with their Father.
